I don't think this is to clean the sheep. From what I've seen in similar videos they're getting treated for parasitic flies that lay eggs in open wounds, and lice.

I would think that ridding something of parasites counts as a form of cleaning. But I get what you're saying.

In a way though, isn't that still cleaning them of parasites? I'd take a mudbath if it meant getting the ticks/lice off of me.
