Demond unlikely to play š
You never want anyone hurt but this is a good thing to see Elijah and the team step up.

10/8: 8-3 W @ SJSU
10/9: 4-1 W @ UC-Berkeley
10/10: 2-5 L @ UC-Berkeley
10/11: 8-4 W @ SJSU
I am not perturbed at all by the loss to Cal. They are a really solid team and have amazing goaltending. They have been a really big challenge for the Huskies the last two years and it looks like that is going to continue.

Washington QB Williams unlikely to return vs. Purdue

Canāt believe the stuff Jedd is saying. āOh weāre the youngest P4 team (because we made it a point to recruit from high school) but in 3 years we will be able to competeā. Have you had conversations about players future? āOh no, we havenāt had any convos yet about retaining these young playersā. Jedd needs to resign this isnāt good.

Wishful thinking on my end, but the Wolverines aren't off to a great start either.

ESPN uses its Football Power Index (FPI) to project win probabilities for every game. At the start of the season, FPI had the Huskies favored or heavily favored in six games, roughly even in three and underdogs in three, for a projected record of about 7-5. Six weeks later, UW isn't favored in a single remaining game. I couldn't find an archive of the preseason percentages, but here's roughly how the schedule looked in August:
- Washington State: heavy favorite
- Utah State: heavy favorite
- Eastern Washington: heavy favorite
- Minnesota: favorite
- at USC: underdog
- Iowa: toss-up
- at Purdue: heavy favorite
- at Nebraska: toss-up
- Penn State: toss-up
- at Michigan State: favorite
- Indiana: heavy underdog
- at Oregon: heavy underdog
Here's where things stand now, with FPI win odds as of Oct. 11:
- Sept. 6, Washington State: W 24-10
- Sept. 12, Utah State: W 16-14
- Sept. 19, Eastern Washington: W 48-16
- Sept. 26, Minnesota: L 24-27
- Oct. 3, at USC: L 21-25
- Oct. 9, Iowa: L 24-41
- Oct. 16, at Purdue: 39.7%
- Oct. 31, at Nebraska: 10.7%
- Nov. 7, Penn State: 35.8%
- Nov. 14, at Michigan State: 44.8%
- Nov. 21, Indiana: 9.6%
- Nov. 28, at Oregon: 9.7%

Three returners, two transfer portal additions starting for Washington in my projections. PG: Sayvia Sellers, SG: Avery Howell, SF: Macey Huard (Oklahoma State), PF: Brynn McGaughy, C: Tilda Trygger (North Carolina State), 6th Person: Brooke Carlson (Colorado State).
Team should have Big Ten title aspirations this season. A level of depth and roster flexibility Tina Langley hasn't had in her five prior seasons as head coach, plus returning all three of the team's all-conference honorees from last season.

Does anybody have some good husky podcasts they would recommend?
I always listen to say who, it's my gold standard. Christian, Danny, and Ian are great.
I don't like locked on the huskies - roman tends to word vomit a little too much, and does more of a "your turn, my turn" with guests, instead of having a discussion.
Dub'd up has good x's & O's.
Just looking for more suggestions from the fanbase - anything on Spotify or YouTube.
Thanks

Itās not a money issue. Itās a coaching/AD issue. Look at Oregon, look at A&M, look at Michigan.
All of those schools have plenty of money, go big in the NIL, but ultimately the play calling or player development holds them back.
Bring in a guy like Eck or Shep or even Grubb who will bring some fire to a program and develop players.
My priority would be finding a way to get Pete K back to UW to lead the defense. Iād rather pay less money for a HC and go big to get Pete K back.

Iām afraid to report that we will go 0-9 in conference

It. Is. Coaching. Same spend on football players (they spent slightly less this year). Just better results because of coaching. Way better defense, ok offense but still better than ours.

Just want him to know the band was cheering his name, as well as yelling āMVP!ā several times during the game. First time Iāve ever seen it happen; you got us hyped man!!

Put in a fucking backup and itās like a whole different team. Actually makes reads, doesnāt get sacked, makes quick decisions, great arm.
Fisch needs to fucking BENCH DEMOND. I will boycott every home game if they do not make a quarterback change.
ELIJAH BROWN. LEARN HIS NAME.

Until Jedd F('d) is gone.
The opposing fans are LOUDER in OUR OWN STADIUM.
This was once the loudest most engaged fan base in all of CFB.
I've seen a godawful UW (winless, under Ty Willingham) team play USC in our house in the middle of a downpour. We had the stands thin out but we never allowed the opposing fans to take over our stadium.
It makes me sick. This is pathetic and this is the legacy of bringing in someone like Jedd who hadn't even won anything of note before this. Fix it. Bring in Shephard from Oregon State, or someone from a smaller school with a strong winning record. No more guys without wins under their belt.

UW alum. Lived through a few instances of the wheels coming off the bus, and the glory days with Petersen and Deboer.
The sad part is this season has been so bad, even losing this Iowa game has me optimistic. Itās only one half, but Elijah Brown looked like a proper QB.
And that team was a different team entirely when he was playing. More energy, playing harder. Even that last second garbage time TD⦠they looked proud. Almost like the whole team has been so burnt on Demond (canāt imagine why!).
Even more heartbreaking, those two losses to MN and USC were close games, both with dumb turnovers by Demond resulting from rushed or stupid decisions that led to points for the opponent. If Elijah had been playing, would we be looking at a very different season?
And if the whole team looks different with Elijah in, and Jedd STILL wants to start Demons, what does that say about Jedd? Heās also lost the team?
You know, in people management they say that ādive and savesā (where you offer money or title to keep someone who was planning on leaving) rarely work out. If theyāre leaving, let them. And they also say: all it takes is one toxic person on a team to poison the whole wellā¦

Someone connect Jedd with Sefcik. Please. It's worth the amortized write-off.
r/huskies • u/PlaneNovel6567 • 3d ago
Iāve defended Jedd Fisch against reactionary fans calling for his firing, but watching this first quarter Iām genuinely beginning to think our best option might be to pull a Penn State and fire him mid-season. Itās not just the losses, but the complete lack of any sort of offensive initiative or adjustment, game after game.
And I think itās pretty clear by now that we should have let Demond go to LSU and spent that $4 million on someone who is actually aware of how to go through progressions. Itās his 3rd year as a starter and he seems to have genuinely regressed to being worse than he was as a freshman.

How the hell did they play five games and decide Demond was the better QB than Brown? This team has given up on Jedd.
r/huskies • u/polytr0n • 3d ago
Bench his ass for the rest of the season. Also fire Fisch
Edit: If you're Jedd Fisch, after this fire quarter so far for Elijah Brown, you cannot in good faith start Demond in the next game - he's completely lost it, and Elijah Brown is showing the huskies why he deserves that starting spot. Deserved!
