I’ve created a troubleshooting tool that walks you through determining if a hummingbird needs your help, and if it does, basic first aid you can provide so that you have time to get the hummingbird to your nearest wildlife center or hummingbird rehabilitator. It is on my mentor’s website, IFoundAHummingbird.com
At the end of nearly every process, there is a list of resources including hummingbird rehabilitators and wildlife centers that either take hummingbirds or will connect you with someone who does.
It covers the most common issues we are called about.
Hummingbirds trapped indoors
Cat Caught
Window Strikes
Sitting at Feeders Too Long
Stuck To A Glue Trap/Sticky or Oily Substance On Feathers
Abandoned Nests or Babies

I hope she can keep herself warm tonight! We might even get some snow. I’m a little worried for her

Question, we are cleaning up after Hurricane Isaias, Panama City Florida, I took down my feeders, but should we put them back up, or do major tropical storms displace our little friends? TY

This is my first year with feeders and I had multiple daily in the past few months but hardly seen any the past week now. I am in greater Houston area where it is still very warm. Will I see them all year or do they still keep going further south for the winter? I miss my little buddies.

We’ve gotten some rain here in Burbank, CA recently from the tropical storms and it’s made our feeders popular. I happened to be up close this morning as a particularly grumpy Rufous fella was trying to get a different species off their perch. Anyone know what the other hummingbird could be?
