So the idea is an app that collects user data and attempts to diagnose them to then direct them to applicable available medical professionals.

  1. Directing them to available medical professions; this first requires there to be a medical professional available, and our current system is already backlogged to all hell, so that isn't happening.

  2. The app is a referral service but isn't a medical professional providing the required diagnosis and referral.. so is this more AI crap or is the goal to take more qualified professionals out of the actual treatment positions and give them digital paperwork jobs?

  3. The article keeps repeating that it's for women and a female health network, services like this already exist but don't play the gender exclusive card; and relies on practicioners licensed throughout Canada to be able to provide diagnosises, prescriptions, etc.

So the idea already exists and is virtual care, and our province already has it implemented through Maple, and insurance policies offered through employers already offer alternative care through programs like the Optum health network.

What exactly is being innovated here? Presenting an idea as your own when it already exists and has been in use for years... What exactly was the competition that this beat to become a finalist?
