I'm currently developing a PC TCG. The engine is essentially complete, and I'm starting to work on developing final content for playtesting. I need hundreds of pieces of art to fill out this content, and I do not want to use AI generated works for these cards. I am a solo indie developer, so budget and quantity are my primary concerns. For this reason, I'm looking for artists who are willing to bundle their back-catalogues of finished works rather than commissioning individually for each piece of art. Here are some details:
- Looking for 400-500+ paintings/illustrations. I'm happy to get work from multiple artists, so your bundles do not need to be this large.
- No set theme or art style: I'd prefer genre variety over consistency (think Yugioh/MtG/Pokemon TCG), fantasy/scifi and variety in art styles is also preferred.
- Non-exclusive: I do not want to own your art, you are free to continue selling it elsewhere, I simply want to pay for the permission to use your art for this commercial project.
- Full disclosure: AI was used for much of programming on this project, if you do not want to be associated with AI use at all, unfortunately this is not the project for you. I personally draw the line at generative AI.
Feel free to message me for more information about the project or to discuss an offer! Looking forward to hearing from you!
My responses will be a little slow (expect a few hours or a day or two), but I'll try and get to all of you! Thanks for your interest.

Hi all,
I am an indie developer from Austria working on a vertical slice / alpha and looking for an artist in order to replace my developer UI.
I am currently looking for a UI designer for the main player HUD (Vitals, Equipment, Abilities, Icons, etc...) for a third person action game with possibility for follow up jobs for menus and other UI elements. This is a paid freelance job.
The game is set in a retro futuristic / atompunk / atomic age / art deco style world and it would be nice to have that be reflected in the UI.
The idea was to take inspiration from retro movie posters and ads. Not sure if this is easily achieved or can be used for good looking UI but I am also open for other concepts and ideas.
The complexity of the HUD will be similar to roguelike games like:
I am developing in Unreal Engine 5.8
Please send me a DM with an estimate and a portfolio link with what you think are good examples for above requirements (Please don't send character art or environment art, this is specifically a job listing for UI).
Feel free to ask me any follow up questions.
Depending on the number of contacts I am trying to make a decision on the hire until Monday, 19 October.

Hey Artists!
We're a small indie game development team working on a new digital trading card game, and we're looking for illustrators for our cards. Our game features six distinct factions, each with its own visual identity. We're looking to work with one dedicated artist per faction, with approximately 33 illustrations per artist.
About the project We're looking for artists who can maintain a consistent visual style across an entire faction. Each deck will feature characters, creatures and other thematic illustrations. Cards are static illustrations. We'll supply briefs, references and creative communication throughout the process.
The factions:
Payment
This is a fully paid commercial project. We're currently gathering quotes from artists and are interested in hearing your rates for individual illustrations or the project as a whole.
IMPORTANT: You must have full rights to your creations, aka we will not accept AI in any artwork.
We will require layered source files with the completed artwork.
All work will be covered by a written agreement, with payment terms and milestones agreed before work begins.
How to apply You can add me on discord; wasilij_10. I will need;
Experience with card game illustrations is a plus, but not essential. We're particularly interested in artists with a distinctive style that would suit one of our factions.
(I will update this post and strike through the factions when an artist has been hired for it)
Looking forward to seeing your work!

You can see 2 monster designs in the screenshots as art reference.
I need 1 more monster designed. Animated with idle, attack and death animations.
Has to match the art style.
It's for an upcoming incremental roguelite "Let Me Die". https://store.steampowered.com/app/5258160/Let_Me_Die/
Release date is very soon, so I need someone who is available to deliver this relatively fast.
P.S. I would appreciate if you don't DM, instead share a portfolio below and I will contact you if it seems like a good fit.

TL;DR: We are a team looking to add a visual designer/illustrator for an upcoming game jam.
Update: Some people reached out and asked for our budget. There is none. We do it for fun or portfolio building. There are prizes and there may be funding awarded by the jam organizers. If we win something we will split it but there is no guarantee we will win anything until we do 😅
Original post:
There is an upcoming game jam starting in less than a week focused on educational games with financial literacy themes. It is co-organized by the GGJ team and features a significant prize pool. You can read the announcement here: https://globalgamejam.org/news/zoud-and-global-game-jam-launch-financial-literacy-game-jam-140k-prizes-and-development
I posted in r/INAT a couple weeks ago looking to assemble a team. We are now 3 people and I've been talking to a few artists, but the art position is still open.
Two of us have successfully collaborated in the past, most recently winning first prize in a jam ($5000) a few months ago with a team recruited in r/INAT and a few other prizes over the past couple years. Since there is no guaranteed reward, please consider this a [Hobby] post. Also, please ensure you are comfortable with the jam's theme, the game genre described below and the jam sponsors and their terms (linked below).
We are waiting for the official start of the jam to see what additional theme the organizers propose but we have been reading on some materials already shared and we have a core concept we are excited about. Our current ideas revolve around a point-and-click puzzle adventure with a deciphering mechanic.
While the jam permits generative AI, neither of us uses it; we prefer to assemble a team of people who care deeply about their human craft. If you join us as the artist, you will have full creative control on the art direction and stylization. We have planned for some locations, characters and UI; how those are presented (top-down map or first person point of view; embodied in the world or visual novel style overlays, etc.) is up to you. We will work together to sketch/graybox the environment, add shaders or visual effects or whatever we need to execute your vision. Ultimately, we want to make something everyone is excited about and proud to feature in their portfolios.
We will be building the game in Godot and are currently leaning toward a 2D or 2.5D project to fit the timeline. If you are interested, please ping me with a link to your portfolio or previous work. Also, please let us know where you are located.

Hello! I'm looking for 3D modelers to create low-poly stylized characters and environment pieces for my indie game.
Our game is inspired by Megabonk and Vampire Survivors but we have taken a spin on the genre and added friendslop mechanics. More details will be revealed to those that are hired.
I'm looking for 3D artists that have plenty of experience with low-mid poly modeling in Blender or any other 3D modeling software of choice. You must also be comfortable with rigging characters.
Visual/art direction will also be shown to those that are interested but an example of something we're inspired by is How to Fish's character style. Our characters will be more complex than those but it can be considered baseline.
Budget: $1,000 USD, split between everything we need. If we hire you to create just a couple characters/environment props your pay will be a portion of the $1,000. We are also open to spending more if we deem your work exceptional/above what we are expecting. All payment will go through PayPal invoices/good and services.
To apply message me or comment on this post with your portfolio, preferred 3D modelling software, and in general any 3D characters or environment work you're proud of. Please include your portfolio/work in your message otherwise you will be ignored. Once we've selected people, we will transition over to Discord for communication.

Hello,
I am a PMP certified project manager with 10+ years of experience that's looking to break into the game development space. Within the next 2-3 years, I would like to publish a small indi game with the goal of eventually bankrolling and bringing larger projects to life.
I'm completely new to this industry and would really just like to learn the ropes. In return for this valuable experience, I would be happy to offer my project management services pro bono. I can commit to roughly 10 hours a week in the beginning. This should be enough time to help any project out with creating a solid project plan, organizing check-ins, and helping create test scripts / whatever other project management might be needed for a small team.
Would anyone in this space be interested in taking me up on this? I'm really just looking for some exposure at this point. I'm mostly looking to learn about the business end of the industry but all experience is welcome. I'm so green to this that anything will help.
Thanks

I'm looking for an experienced game trailer editor to make a new trailer for Silly Suspects, our comedy detective game on Steam.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4117190/Silly_Suspects/
Silly Suspects is inspired by Guess Who. You examine ridiculous crime scenes, dig through clues like banana peels and broken printers, and question a cast of completely unhinged suspects. You learn their quirks, fears and questionable life choices, then rule them out one by one until only the culprit is left. The suspects wander, dance and argue, and you play silly minigames to earn their trust.
You get full access to the game and record all the footage yourself, so you need to be comfortable capturing clean gameplay. [There are dev tools in the game for free movement camera to make your life easier recording footage]. Before you edit anything, you pitch me a few trailer ideas. Once we pick one, you storyboard it so we agree on the structure first.
The trailer needs to be at least 1 minute long, with a strong hook in the first few seconds. It's a comedy, so it has to be funny. Lean into the chaos, the weird suspects and the "how is this a clue" moments.
I'm looking for good comedic timing in your edits, fluent English and regular progress updates.
The budget is $300USD.
For payment, all work goes through Upwork, Fiverr or another platform with payment protection. If you know of a better one, suggest it and we can use that. I won't pay outside a platform.
To apply, comment below with:
Your portfolio, with game trailers you've edited
A link to a trailer you're proud of
A rough idea of how you'd approach a trailer for Silly Suspects
The platform you'd like to work on
All DMs will be ignored, so please reply in the comments.
