Loopgear SK05 II

Post image

I researched this flashlight before pulling the trigger. Paid 160$ for the UV version in black. One of the selling point was a power bank feature which can reverse charge connected devices with the flashlight. I planned to use to charge my Garmin watch when I'm out in the nature. Well, the flashlight came and I enjoyed using it but when I plugged in my phone to charge, it didn't. I contacted the seller and he told me that apparently they removed this powebank feature from the Chinese market version. The ad didn't mention that and when I try to search I can't find anything. Can this be true ? I opened the box which was sealed and everything looked new. Is the seller lying or is there more to it ? What would you do ?

Powerbank feature discontinued? That's kinda wild if true. The main Loop Gear site certainly doesn't mention anything about it - SK05 pages still advertise the feature.

I would rather have a light than a Garmin if it came down to it.

Light doesn't have maps and gps navigation

And a full charge of any Garmin smartwatch is gonna be around 5% of SK05's batteries

As a kid who spent all his free time exploring the emense woodlands around my home ( 5-10 miles north and south to the closest road to make a "block") getting lost is the essence of exploration. In my few times of "surprise survival camping" turn by turn direction wouldn't help if I couldn't see. Loss of light was what stranded me even knowing what way was civilization was...

Personal preference is neat! Everyone can have their own and be happy! Fuck yeah.
