My kid won't tell me what happened here, but nevertheless I was thinking of screwing or soldering a flexible plastic sheet over the cut. Then filling with sand instead of water. But open to ideas.

Jammed drawer

Hey guys,

My cutlery drawer is jammed by a bread knife. With some shaking and force I was able to open it just enough to look inside and fit my spatula in.

But I'm afraid the force pushed my knife into back of the tray. It's made out of plastic and other knives have already made some whole before. So I'm afraid the knife is stuck in the wooden block on the top.

Also I was able to see that the knife is leaning on top on the tray all the way to the left. I couldn't get anything between the wall and the knife to push it right.

I did a lot of shaking cause there are some knives underneath, but with no result. And if the pointy end of the knife is really stuck in the back then it wouldn't matter either.

I checked for screws that I can take out to dismantle the drawers but I couldn't find any.

I'm at complete loss... Does anyone have any tips?

Thank you very much

Good morning, everyone. Our Lazy Susan’s lower tray’s wobbly but the upper tray’s fine (video). Curious if anyone’s fixed this and how. Can’t seem to determine the cause and consequent repair. Any help would be much appreciated.

How to fix rental bathtub enamel chip

Post image

Hi, I’m a renter and accidentally chipped the tub in my apartment. It’s slightly smaller than a dime. I’d prefer my landlord not to see or notice this. What is the best way to do this? I do a lot of DIY. Thanks!

It's from animals because we were keeping some bird seed in here. That specific problem has since been rectified but trying to figure out if there is anything to be done here.

Shower handle was pushed off. Is it easy to fix, or better to call an expert? Any (pre-)steps i should know?

Live in a condo. While pressing the handle to turn the shower off, it broke off, still in the on position. Picture shows the broken white piece inside. I removed the faceplate to screwdriver the 2 water screws inside to turn off the shower water.

It's midnight so will have to buy a replacement piece(s) in the morning. Anything I should do now? Is it easy to replace for someone whose only experience was installing a bidet to a non-standard pipe? Or should I call an expert?

Sudden brown area on my white painted ceiling

Post image

This has appeared pretty suddenly in the last two days and I’m not sure what it is. It’s just here, didn’t start small, just appeared. Weirdly enough it’s the same brown as the walls and is very nearly squared off but nobody’s been painting. Is this mold? Damp?

Edit: just because it’s been asked, I don’t know if it’s water, I got up and felt it and it’s bone dry. It’s also underneath an upstairs bedroom, so I don’t know about leakages but I’m ready for anything.

I went through most of the pictures and post and couldn't find an image like our outdoor faucet. It's currently dripping from the hose connector. I don't want to remove the wrong part and then Im done for. How would go about fixing this before winter sets in? Remove the turn knob?

Thanks!

Broken Speaker?

Hello! The image above is a cute little blue tooth speaker in the shape of an old radio that I got from a mom and pop store at the beginning of the summer, and it recently ran out of charge, so I plugged it in. Unfortunately, however, it refuses to charge and stays at the same low battery level. Does anyone know how to fix this? I dont think the charger or the outlet is at fault because Ive tried two different USB chargers in two different outlets.

open How can I fix my Ice Maker?

Have this Samsung Ice maker where the ice has condensed and frozen over the tray, causing ice building up and the maker to stop working. I've tried taking out the ice maker module but 24 hours later there's still no ice in the bin. When I took the module out again to check it, it looks like the ice has gotten built up and stuck again in the actual ice tray. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Much appreciated

The bottom edge of our cinder block fence is starting to deteriorate. I'm guessing something like hydraulic cement and then repainting everything with masonry primer and paint. Product or technique recommendations would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

open Can this be addressed? Chairs

Hello. We have these three different chair types (two are the same, four total chairs). But they’re all a bit different colors and kinda old and worn. Is there a way to refinish them to make them look more similar/at least spruce them up so they don’t look so used? I’m not sure how I’d sand down all the round surfaces.

Thanks!

How can I fix the heel on these Jordan 4s?

I thrifted these from my local goodwill for $15. I’m not too bothered by minor creases since i’m planning to skate them anyways, but the heel on the right shoe looks really ugly, it’s as if someone purposely squished them. I looked at tutorials on youtube and none of them seemed to tackle this specific problem so naturally I came here. I don’t expect it to come back looking new just need it to regain its shape.

So the tenant pulled the drawer slide out, and broke the tab on this anchor. They decided to reinstall it instead of calling me. After it broke in half, they thought that crazy glue was the solution. I said always feel free to call me.

Of course, I cannot find the anchor at the usual suspects. Help me reddit, you’re my only hope.

open Blown capacitor in aeg jigsaw

Hoping to fix this jigsaw. Model: AEG Step 1200 BX.

A shower of orange sparks and some smoke came out the back and it stopped working and tripped the switch. After opening it up it appears to be a blown capacitor but I can’t find a replacement. It’s 20 years old so no spare parts available. Any help would be much appreciated.

The power supply comes into the jigsaw, goes through the switch and then through the capacitor to the motor. There is a 3rd wire coming out of the capacitor and going into a hole in the plastic body of the jigsaw. I’ve added pics in case that’s helpful.
