Discussion A route with adult Illiya would have been peak.

Honestly it would have the potential to be the best of the routes. Would be so cool for it to be her on the focus for once, let her get to know shirou, talk about the einzberns, kiritsugu and all that. Why not let her age normally? It would have been so much better.

But alas, it was never meant to be...

Edit: Yes... I know Illiya is an adult, technically. But come on... she looks like a child and acts like a child.

Discussion Who do you think would be the most powerful Servant that could be summoned in your Country/City?

In the Fate series, we know that fame strongly influences the strength of each Servant when they are summoned. One of the biggest examples is Vlad III receiving a Fame Bonus in Romania, which took him from being a relatively weak Servant to being able to fight Karna on equal terms—someone who is said to be almost as powerful as Gilgamesh.

With that in mind, who do you think would be the Servant who would receive the biggest possible Fame Bonus in your country?

This is probably going to sound like a weird answer, but from my perspective, I think the Virgin Mary would receive the greatest Fame Bonus in Ecuador.

To put things into perspective, in Ecuador, according to the results of the 2012 census, 80.4% of the population identified as Catholic. And while those figures are old, many people grew up in a society heavily influenced by Catholicism, so it is reasonable to assume that the percentage has not decreased that much.

One of the greatest expressions of this is the Pilgrimage of the Virgin of El Cisne, a major event held in her honor based on the legend that the Virgin Mary appeared in the town of “El Cisne” in 1594. Since then, every year people travel a total distance of around 74–75 kilometers, attracting tens of thousands of devotees, around 45,000 people on a journey from the town of El Cisne to Loja. (Although not all of them walk the entire distance; most people only walk smaller sections of the route.)

You could argue that she might not be summonable because she would only qualify for the Ruler class, but I think the Rider class could also work in Ecuador, with the throne on which she is carried during the pilgrimage serving as her mount.

As for her abilities and fighting style, we could use Johanna as an example, but make her much more powerful. She could also have a Skill or Noble Phantasm that I would call “Immaculate,” which would make her completely immune to any form of corruption, manipulation, poison, or mind control.

She could also have Imperial Privilege, since one of the titles given to her is “Queen of El Cisne” (even the stadium in Loja is named after her).

After her, I would probably say Simón Bolívar, followed by Antonio José de Sucre, would be the ones who receive the biggest Fame Bonuses. They were military leaders who played a major role in the independence of Ecuador from the Spanish Empire.

But what about your country or city? Who do you think would receive the biggest Fame Bonus there?

Discussion Rin is the best choice for Shirou among the 3 love interests of Fate Stay/Night

Post image
2.3k Upvotes

Rin is more than a love interest for Shirou. She is also his teacher and Best friend at the same time. She also keeps on making sure that Shirou doesn't lose his way like Archer and keeps him in check.Rin understands why Shirou is obsessed with saving everyone.

Rin is also very understanding and supports shirou with everything.

Rin as Shirou's wife is his significant other.Rin also as Shirou's teacher is someone who guides shirou.Rin is also his best friend with whom shirou can have fun, have figths and do a lot of fun stuff.

The reason Rin is the best choice is because she doesn't have any personal problems like Saber and Sakura because of which her main goals are becoming a powerful mage and making sure Shirou doesn't lose his path.

Now if only Shirou could transfer UBW inside a Magic Crest so that they can give their future children both the Tohsaka family crest and also the Crest which will holding UBW.

Discussion How differently would audience perception of Fate/Stay Night be with a gender swapped cast?

Thumbnail

What started as a shower thought after seeing R63 Shirou art has evolved into a legitimate curiosity for me. I have begun to think about how differently audience perception and opinions on Stay Night would be if most of the cast were gender swapped.

For the sake of discussion, the core of the story should remain the same. With the overall same plot and story beats.

I think the most interesting for me, personally would be Shirou and Sakura, and how that would be seen. As a survivor of sexual abuse like Sakura, I view Heaven's Feel in high regard, especially for the time it's from because of how the cycle of abuse can take place.

But how would most people see them? I can imagine the dynamic, even today is rather unusual. Especially with how much less attention male victims get. I think Sakura would've been much more disliked in 2003, however I think a lot of people when the Heaven's Feel movies were releasing would feel very seen by it. The shift of gender roles with a female Shirou trying to take the role of the protector of a male Sakura would be a very groundbreaking thing for 2003.

Unfortunately however, I think we'd also see a much larger group Shinji defenders. With Sakura being abused by Shinji, I think a large portion of the audience would have a much different reaction to their relationship than they do as it is today. If Chainsaw Man is anything to go off of, unfortunately I don't think the fetishization of male rape victims will ever stop being so prevalent.

This is a topic I've become really interested in, and i'd love to hear other thoughts on it!

Discussion How many FSN servants can Lionheart beat? Spoiler

Post image

How far does Richard go if he fought each of the Stay/Night servants?

Rules: each fight is 1v1, no masters around on terrain that gives no intrinsic advantage. Each servant is at the most powerful we see them, for example Richard has Ayaka as a master, Artoria would be contracted to Rin, Rider directly to Sakura, etc. I think this is more interesting and fair than just a blanket “everyone has infinite mana” setting.

As a Lionheart glazer here’s how I think this’d play out:

Assassin (Cursed Arm): Easy dub. Assassin is fast but overall weak, and Richard already showed us he has no problem keeping up with a stronger Assassin in FsF.

Caster (Medea): Easy dub. Richard has high magic resistance, insane speed, and Caster doesn’t really have a good answer to his spamming of Excalibur.

Fake Assassin (Sasaki): Fairly easy dub. While Sasaki is a great swordsman, he lacks a counter to Goodspeed + Excalibur.

Lancer (Cu): Challenging dub. Richard has the sword skills to fend off Cu, but Bolg is an issue as expected. Though with Godspeed and Excalibur I think Richard could take out Ireland’s child of light.

Rider (Medusa): Challenging dub. Medusa is likely the only servant here who can match or surpass Richard in speed, and her eyes are another issue. Though between spamming Excalibur, being able to keep up with Medusa and his magic resistance I think Richard wins. RoL could also be massively helpful here to work around the eyes.

Archer (Emiya): Hard fought dub. I’m going under the assumption that Emiya uses UBW here, and as such the sheer amount of weapons is a big issue. However Godspeed once again helps Richard here a ton, and if he gets in close range I don’t think Emiya really has an answer to a point blank Excalibur.

Berserker (Heracules): Hard fought loss. Even as a Richard fan I just don’t think he’s got the sustained firepower and stamina to beat Herc here. He’d likely fight in the same way Saber Alter did, but unlike her Richard’s Excalibur is weaker and he doesn’t have near infinite stamina. I do believe her take lives off Herc, but I just don’t see him taking them off quick enough.

Fake Archer (Gilgamesh): Loss. We’ve seen Richard cs Gil in FsF, and while Gil wasn’t scoring a decisive victory, Richard wasn’t really making any headway either. And of course, if Ea comes out… welp.

Saber (Artoria): Loss. While Shirou might tell us that a fake can surpass the original, in this clash of Excaliburs the fake is losing 10 times out of 10. Artoria takes this.

So, what do yall think? As I mentioned a few times I’m a massive Lionheart fan and as such leaned toward Richard when I wasn’t sure of a winner. Curious to hear others thoughts on these matchups.

Discussion If you could summon any Servant in real life, which one would you choose?

Post image

By the way, you would have Command Spells with the power of the Fuyuki system, and they would recharge at a rate of one per day, just like Chaldea's.

Edit: By the way, you don't need to worry about mana to maintain the Servant; you would have a Holy Grail that serves exclusively as a mana source.

Discussion Why didn't the Einzbern summon Siegfried? Spoiler

Post image

Lately I've seen there's so many post about Sigurd. But I'm here for his counterpart, my boy, Siegfried.

Einzbern is said to possess Siegfried's treasure, Das Rheingold for generations. If they want to win so badly, why didn't they just use some of the gold to summon him in the Holy Grail War?

He might be weaker than Heracles, but I think his armor is more useful and efficient. He might also got summoned with his Dragon Core too, unlike with Gordes.

Or they can summon Sigurd too since he's related too (?)

Discussion While I came to Type-Moon for the heroines but I stayed for the Goat Shirou Fucking Emiya

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

At first when I first saw the heroines everywhere I thought this anime has to be so peak so I needed to watch it.

So I watched the anime adaptations of Fate franchise and I loved them so much.

Saber became best girl for me in anime as a whole.

But then I learned Fate/Stay Night has a visual novel so I gave that a read and I became the biggest fan of the Goat Shirou Fucking Emiya.

Shirou is exactly the type of main protagonist I always wanted from any anime.

His future self who I see as a extension of Shirou's character made his character even better for me.

Right now shirou is in my top 3 favourite anime/manga/visual novel main protagonists.
