Needs a final panel of Gil and Archer drinking together on the emiya's rooftop while Shirou screams for help inside

You could have emiya kill him. He would probably know how to bait him into unlimited blade works, and it's easy from there. If Shirou can keep up with him, then emiya could probably get him before he can pull ea.

If he could do that don't you think he would have done so?

No, I think he didn’t do it because he knew he could after he’d accomplished his other goals in ubw

Nah because he still has amnesia and wouldn't think to do most of this

u/AutumnRi 3d ago
Wasn’t the amnesia always a lie? Like he didn’t fully remember everything because it had been a long time but he mostly just didn’t want to bother explaining shit to Rin.
That’s why when she introduces herself he says something like “oh right, that was your name”

He largely didn't remember most things, I think Saber and Rin would be who he remembered the most. He memory started coming back as the war progressed but he still didn't have a full recollection of everything, which is why what he does in the meme isn't very possible.
I'm probably misremembering something, though.

I mean, yeah "Amnesia" is technically a lie but it's short, sweet, and addresses the point that he really doesn't remember jack shit.
"I have been a machine dedicated to killing everything that threatens to wipe out all of humanity for an indeterminable amount of time across all possible realities and the trauma of that has effectively sand blasted everything other than that existence out of my skull." is long, invites questions he doesn't want to/can't answer, and is complicated enough that most people probably wouldn't get it.

I think that Nasu said in an interview that the only things Archer remembers are the fire at the end of the 4th HGW and summoning Saber (the scene at the beginning of the VN is from his perspective). Those are the only things he actually remembers, all other memories either happened too long ago or didn't leave enough impact to remember. It's like an old man trying to remember things from his childhood, but a lot worse. As he goes through the war he pieces together what little memories he has, but it was probably mostly theories on how things have gone down

Isnt that his whole thing. Make the many happy in exchange for not being happy himself.
Shirou: I will become a hero of justice and saved everyone.
Emiya: That's hell you're walking into, kid.

I’m pretty sure she’s older than Shirou in Stay Night.

Yes but she looks and acts way younger than him

u/Guiorno 1d ago
Heaven's Feel disagrees due to her responsibility as an elder sister

u/LoudGear9028 1d ago
Yes but 90% of the time she looks, acts, talks, and behaves like a child. An unsettling child who knows more than she lets on and has a bodyguard as big as a house, sure, but still like a child!

I love how it's all just symbols until the word "polygamy???" appears. It perfectly encapsulates true happiness for Shirou Emiya and his harem

u/Aizen5580 1d ago
Oh no Archer is still trying to kill his past self, he's just not trying to kill him anymore.

u/tressertressert 1d ago
Are we just ignoring the whole Shirou fantasizing about Artoria's sword entering his sheath thing?

u/Franks_Hobbies 1d ago
Archer knew enough to make everything turn out well on night one if he wanted to, but by the time he's summoned his goal is pretty clearly temporal suicide, and he's lacking certain knowledge necessary to cover every scenario.

But that wouldn't make him happy....
