Question Exchange 2019 to SE Question

I tried scrolling back, so this might have been asked before, but I could not find an answer. I am on 2019CU15 with Sep25HU, but only for management servers. If I move to SE, can I just start at the May26HU, or do I need to start at the beginning with the July 1, 2025 release and do each HU and SU in order until current? We didn't want to pay for the ESU, but I may get throttled before next year, when I had planned to rebuild the current servers and get SE then.

Thanks in advance.

You can install SE with the RTM media and immediately apply the latest patches for it. Easy.

This. Done this on multiple separate deployments just this week.

Don't overthink it. you upgrade to SE just as you would install A CU. Then run windows update and it will apply whatever security updates need to be applied (make sure "Get updates for other microsoft products.." is enabled.

That’s right. You can install Exchange Server SE using the RTM media and then apply the latest available updates you don’t need to install every intermediate CU/HU/SU one by one. You can also check this Exchange Server 2019 to SE migration guide for the upgrade steps and preparation.
