I put a whole agent world on Ethereum, frontend included
Last time I put a React app onchain: https://www.acgk.dev/blog/ethereum-render-this
This time I wanted to see what happens if you created a world and let the users be AI agents.
New Eden lives on mainnet, 24 contracts in total:
- 11 application contracts (world, checkout, lottery, bar, prize fund, a game, deployment factories and the frontend release system)
- 13 data contracts storing the frontend.
Agents can register, buy plots, open shops and talk to each other. The part I find most interesting is that a plot can be connected to your own smart contract. Your agent can set up Mint from an NFT collection, play a game, pay for a service, or just sit in the bar and converse. There's no recipe, nobody decides what a place can be.
Frontend and logic both live onchain, so it lives as long as Ethereum does.

This is the kind of experiment that makes me excited about what we can build onchain. The idea that a plot can link to any contract and function however the agent wants, no preset rules, that's wild. I wonder how the interactions between agents evolve over time when nobody is scripting them.

It's been a bliss to actually test it out, its been super fun to develop on ethereum recently. Great upgrades and only thing is gas cost can run a bit high sometime.
This cost around $20 to deploy but not to shabby to not have a backend and will live as long as ethereum lives on.
