Are crypto debit cards useful?
I've been looking into different ways people spend crypto, and a lot of the options still involve moving funds onto a card or exchange first. Would you rather use a crypto card or pay straight from your own wallet?
Interested in hearing what people are using.

I think paying straight from your wallet makes way more sense than constantly moving funds around. Oobit is worth checking out, lets you spend crypto from your wallet pretty much anywhere Visa is accepted. Seems a lot more practical for everyday stuff.

Not secure to give access to some random contract tho is it. Many of the cards that did this got hacked at some point

For actually spending, a card wins easily since almost nowhere takes wallet payments directly. The real choice is the type of card. Custodial ones make you preload onto an exchange, while newer ones like MetaMask’s card pull from your own wallet at checkout, so you’re not parking funds with someone else.
Either way, spend stables rather than ETH or BTC if you can. In a lot of countries every swipe with a volatile coin counts as a taxable sale, and a year of coffee purchases turns into hundreds of tiny gains to report. Though trackers like Chain Glance and Bitcoin.Tax can untangle that, you probably won't need it if you’re only spending stables.

if we consider the issue from the perspective of preserving privacy, direct payment is undoubtedly preferable. however, when the need for daily spending arises, the situation changes. colleague recently integrated ZeroID into his routine. according to him,the absense of KYC and the ability to top up via USDT and USDC significantly simplify life. moreover a daily limit of two millions dollars and atm withdrawals of up to three thousand cover almost any scenario .service have 2 years old , so there is more trust in them than in startups

Would much prefer to pay directly and avoid the built in fees + fake cash back.

fake cash back
Can you explain the problem with these cards?

Customers pay with credit cards and pay wave and extra services and usually over 3% of the payment doesn't go to the store in many cases. Then from all the money the CC makes the give the customer 2% cash back etherfi gives 3. It's silly, we pretend there's cashback when really it's just an extra fee which later gets decreased a bit. But you can't pay directly as the store built the fee into the shelf price so you play the dumb game
