Windows still fighting for making a real taskbar dock
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
what do you think now? I've managed - after quite a few tests and ideas - to get some real "taskdock" while keeping all functions and counters reflected from the actual (now hidden) taskbar, and keep the clock and systray active. still in dev: but I want to try and make is work good so I can finally offer a real taskdock. Trying to avoid all the hassle of configuring PNGs and add-ons and bugs - just get a simple effective taskbar, with magnifications and/or other effects (the other "Juicy taskdock" effects are available when magnification is off).

Windows I built a lightweight, native Fluent desktop organizer for Windows 10/11 (No subscriptions)
Hey everyone! Tired of heavy desktop organizers with yearly subscriptions, I built GlassDesk Pro — a native C#/.NET 8 tool that organizes icons into translucent Mica/Acrylic containers (~120-170MB RAM).
Features folder portals, shift calendar, and double-click peek.
Free 15-day trial on the official Microsoft Store. If you try it, I'd really appreciate an honest rating/review to help an indie dev out! 👇

If you haven’t checked out 4kwallpapers.com yet, it’s well worth a look. After years of using wallhaven.cc, I’ve switched to this site. The quality is amazing.

Advice what is a good game build for a desktop?
I have a asus republic of gaming 1050 ti laptop and it runs ALOT of games in settings i really don't know. Example is red dead redemption 2 online. I have 32 gb of ram.
I want to get a desktop vs a new laptop but im struggling badly. I have my ps5 and will play most high titles but i want to know what the ps5 settings run, im not into 4k gaming just i dont want lag buffering and i enjoy details like the picture i took from my laptop last night.
I dont want the best, as almost all my steam games arent high end games, but my issue is this: i am a huge physical media person. I have a ton of dvds, cds, and pc games ill never give up. My ps5 is the disc version [not the one where you buy the add on for] so i can still play all my physical movie collection.
I do not want to give up a dvd drive, but i did see on ebay a hp envy with 32 gb ram, intel i7- 4th gen with rtx 3050.
My wife for example, i have to get her atleast a rtx 4050 i believe to play ultra high games as shes huge into steam as well but plays more modern high graphic online games.
Is there anyone out there who could point me out? I posted a pic of the desktop and its a design i like. Has usb sd dvd drive etc.
I hope this doesnt sound too newbie like but i legit am a newbie when it comes to looking for gaming desktops/pcs.

Humming pc
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Heyy What's up guys.
Do any of you know what can cause a pc to "hum" ?
Sometimes when the fans kick in, the pc starts humming. I feel it has nothing to do with the rpm, comes on and of on high and low rpm.
I have I have, disassembled EVRYTHING, reassembled, ensures no play in the panels, EVRYTHING tighten up, even swapped some fans arround and bought new ones. But yea. Nothing.
I hope you can hear it on camera!
Thanks

What would you want from a desktop environment that supports Python extensions?
I'm developing GTINK OS, a Python/Tkinter desktop environment running on Windows. It's more than a themed Start menu: it has its own launcher, File Manager, Terminal, Settings, and virtual DATA and DEV drives.
I'm exploring how developers could add Terminal commands and apps that appear in the launcher with their own icons and optional Settings entries.
It's a work in progress, and I'm collecting feedback before locking in the design.
For people who enjoy customizing desktops, what would make this genuinely useful rather than just another visual shell?
• Would you bring your own Python scripts or utilities into an environment like this?
• Would you rather create Terminal commands, launcher apps, or have one plugin support both?
• How would you want to install extensions: folder, ZIP, GitHub, or a curated catalog?
• What would you need to trust third-party plugins—visible source, permissions, compatibility info, reviews, or warnings before code runs?
• What should a desktop environment explain about virtual drives and their real Windows storage paths?
I'm especially interested in real examples and trade-offs, not just feature wish lists. If you've built or used plugin systems, what worked well and what became frustrating?
Project page: https://gtinkos.vercel.app/
Thanks for any constructive thoughts!
