Pattern help Has anyone made this? I’m super confused by the instructions

Thumbnail

It looks cute and I want to make it, but the instructions are very confusing.

For the ears I’m assuming I just ignore round 2, that I kinda figured out.

But for the body it says “5 sc with leg, 12 sc, 5 sc with leg, 14 sc”… I have no idea what that means, do I have to stitch into the legs in the stitches as I crochet? Do I have to take whatever yarn I have leftover for sewing on the legs and switch to that and use that? Is it just telling me where the legs will go? I am lost and I don’t get it.

Also I’m assuming it goes from the bottom of the body to the top, and then you just sew the head onto the body?

Also if anyone HAS made this, does it end up how the picture looks? I’m worried the ears will be round and not pointed.

(Thanks in advance for any advice or help, I’m so confused 🫣)

Hi I’m looking for help! I bought the subscription for this blanket a year ago then came across hard times so I had to cancel. They don’t just sell the pattern unfortunately but the subscription is now unavailable on their website so I’m trying to see if anyone has the leftover booklets and they could help me out!! Again if they were selling the pattern I would buy it. Please send this to anyone that you know that has made this blanket please 🥹🥹

Looking for a specific pattern Does anyone have an open toe/toeless socks pattern?

I've been looking everywhere for a decent pattern for a open toe sock with the heel. Every pattern I've found so far doesn't include the heel or their page is littered with ads. If anyone already knows of a pattern I could follow for this I'd appreciate it!

Pattern help Why did @MyChickenPatterns egg apron turn out the wrong size? Is this pattern written using AI?

Hi, I’m currently working on a commission for a friend. They specifically chose & purchased the pattern for me to use. The pattern has no gauge and never states how big the project is supposed to turn out, only that it requires a 3mm and 100% cotton yarn meant for a 3mm hook. I used a 3.75mm hook because after trying with a 3mm i realized it was going to be wayyyy too small and was honestly shocked that the pattern suggested it. i continued with the 3.75mm hook (i also used i love this cotton yarn which is medium 4 weight & calls for a 5.5mm hook) , measuring each piece along the way, and i figured 5in for a square and 4in for a chicken pocket would be a good size to fit eggs. well… i finished everything, now i only have to sew it all together, and the pockets DO NOT FIT eggs into them ): to be fair i am using supermarket eggs to test, not fresh backyard chicken eggs, but still. i can squeeze them into the pocket and then struggle to get them out, but they’re not at all loose or comfortable fit like in the pattern pictures. is this pattern AI? could it ever possibly be the right size with a 3mm hook and light/fine yarn? i know the solution is to probably just remake them with a bigger hook, but i’m still so confused as to how the pattern maker could have possibly made the size shown in their photos using a 3mm hook and fine cotton yarn…

(note: after finding their etsy page their photos all look like AI, so i suspect the patterns themselves may also be AI, but they specify in the description that they did not use AI at all, and they have good reviews! so whatever that means)

Pattern help Need help for creating my very first pattern of a tiger shark

Hiiii everyone, I hope you are all good.

I wanted to createy very first pattern of a tiger shark in crochet but to be honest, I have no idea how to do it.

I crochet a lot from pattern already made but I never create my own pattern. I read that the best is to separate the idea (in my case, the tiger shark) into different shapes but, I struggle for the start of it. I you look at the tiger shark, their head are not totally pointy, it's more like a small rectangle that point up. How do I star that? Magic ring with increase or half double crochet at the bottom so the pointy nose goes up?

Any help is welcome, I thank you all in advance!

Pattern help Help with squaring off peaks and valleys on chevron blanket

Hello friends - I have made a chevron blanket and I want to square it off and I haven’t exactly found how to do that. My pattern is a chain with two sc as a foundation row. The row starts with a sc2tog, 5 sc, 3 sc in next st, 5 sc, sc2tog twice, 14 sc, 3 sc in next st, 14 sc, sc2tog twice, 8 sc, 3 sc in next st, 8 sc, sc2tog twice, 14 sc, 3 sc in next st, 14 sc, sc2tog twice, 5 sc, 3 sc in next st, 5 sc, sc2tog then turn and repeat.

Can anyone help me with squaring off?

Looking for recommendations Looking for help about changing an acrylic dk weight yarn

Hi all!
I am making my 4 year old a Christmas sweater at his request lol. The pattern calls for a dk acrylic weight yarn however from personal experience my son absolutely hates acrylic yarn. Can I use “I love this cotton” instead of the dk acrylic yarn? Will it change sizing all the much? Would you use the recommend pattern hook size? The pattern is a bit difficult and messy but doable and does not have a gauge.

All recommendations appreciated!

Looking for a specific pattern How Do You Find Unique Granny Square Patterns That Aren't Everywhere on Pinterest?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I've been exploring different granny square designs lately, and I've noticed that Pinterest keeps showing me the same patterns over and over again.

I love classic granny squares, but I'm especially interested in textured squares, floral designs, and creative patterns for blankets, bags, and other projects.

I'm curious how other crocheters discover new patterns.

Do you usually find them on Pinterest, YouTube, Etsy, or in PDF pattern collections?

And do you prefer having individual patterns or a whole collection organized in one place?

I'd love to hear what works best for you

Pattern help Help me with reading the pattern with different sizes

Post image

https://www.maecrochets.com/single-post/free-pattern-crochet-butterfly-top

I found this really cool butterfly top pattern, but I can figure out how to read it. I'd like to make it in size M, but I don't understand how to do that. Does the numbers in parentheses mean that I need to repeat the row I'm currently on so that the row number matches the one in parentheses? That's the only thing that remotely makes sense to me, but I'm not sure.

Also a side question: if the yarn they're using in the pattern is roughly 0,6g per meter, and the one I want to use is 0,4 g per m how many sizes should I go up from my regular clothing for it to fit me? Or will it not work at all and I should just get the same yarn weight

Looking for recommendations Amigurumi or other project ideas for a grown man as a christmas gift?

Hi! Any other small project ideas are welcome too!

Looking for a not cutesy pattern or idea for a plush I could do for my father as everyone in my family get some kind of handmade item for christmas from me this year, so I think it would be fitting if I make him something too as a small extra.

I'm being busy with the other gifts, so I can't do something large-ish, I maybe thought a small desk plush would do the trick. Sadly I don't know if he even has an favorite animal so looking for overall ideas what to do here. Thanks in advance!
