Stain near mouth

Anyone have tips/tricks to clean up white fur around mouth? I’ve tried warm water with and without apple cider vinegar on a microfibre cloth and wipe with dry napkin after. It only removes dirt but doesn’t remove the reddish-brown stain. I try to do it after every meal and the park. Dog tax of my Cardigan Welsh Corgi pupper.

I’m sorry I don’t know the answer, but your puppy is adorable 😍 Love the second photo!

(Does he lick a lot? Might be saliva stain…)

Thank you!!

I don’t notice a lot of licking but he loves to dig into dirt and mulch while out walking or after potty. And I always wipe it after but to no avail. Only time it is clean is after a bath or groomer’s which is not often.

I use this supplement for my boy: https://a.co/d/0hBt7bMk

The same chemical that causes tear stains (porphyrins) is also in a dog's saliva, so I imagine any anti-tear stain product would help :)

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion.

I do use anti-tear stain wipes on that spot too which doesn’t really work, but I’ll give the chews a try.

The chews have a rather pungent scent - I call them Frank's "stinky treats" 🤣

His breath is already starting to not smell nice since he is growing out of the puppy stage. No more puppy breath smell. 🥲

Do you have hard water?

Yeah, slight. I’m gonna change to the Brita filter tomorrow onwards.

We do, too. We got an under the sink RO system and it has helped with the tinge.

Our place is a rental and I do not want to make any changes to it unfortunately. So will have to stick to the Brita filter for now. But glad to know that filtered water actually helps.

The Brita will do exactly the same thing. 👍
