Question something keeps killing task manager and regedit

whenever i open either program, it closes within a second. this does not apply within safe mode, nor have i found any other utils it affects. does anyone recognise this or have any recommendations?

EDIT: ok so i updated windows and now it seems to be working fine so idk

Most likely malware trying to stop you from ending it. Only possible other explanation is if this is a work/school computer and the management disables those features (although I think typically it would just say blocked by administrator not close)
