Mate if you don’t understand what is what in Windows, please keep yourself away from all the menus and settings. This will spare you lots of headaches and money spent on “antiviruses” recommended by bots on Reddit
The processes/elements on the screenshots are just Windows things or a random connection block from Malwarebytes (it sometimes shows just bizzare false positives). You have nothing to worry about

No, those processes are normal, startup tasks look normal and that warning isn't a sign of malware

If you're not tech savvy, poking through your computer looking at things you don't understand is a great way to waste all of your time and induce panic for no reason.
It's like if you popped the hood of your car and pointed at random slightly worn/greasy parts asking the car subreddits "is my engine going to blow up from this?"
All of this is normal stuff. Let your security software and Windows itself do it's job.

Yeh and thats how many people get infostealers because antimalware tools suck at "Doing their job" when malware uses living off the land.

I’m not a mechanic at all, and I won’t ever pretend to be one or claim I am, so I know for a fact if I see something that to me looks out of place in a car, then I’ll ask if it’s broken or not, when it could be perfectly fine. Same concept with Task Manager

and then you should get an actual answer instead of being brought down by a bunch of incels on reddit

Poking around lol, they’re in Task Manager mate. Get a grip.

That’s still “poking around”.
I’ve had people ask me if “is this a virus? is that a virus? what about this one?”
I don’t blame them for wanting to double check or learn at all, but yes, Task Manager still has the ability to make those unaware to feel unsafe/paranoid about things going on in their computers.

I figure poking around would be trying to fix it themselves, which they’re not doing - they’ve just seen something they deemed anomalous and asked a question about it.
This is the same as when Windows processes flash a CMD window on startup and people think they have a keylogger. Asking and learning is how we gain knowledge.

The most dogshit search ever implemented must consume 10% of your ram to pull up bing results of discord when you simply try to open the app

Why look under the hood if you’re not a mechanic bro

They’re only asking a question, a lot of uppity pricks in this thread.
I’m a comp-sci major working for the government and you’d be amazed how many IT adjacent people I work around that don’t know the basics. But learning and providing autonomy is how people become more savvy.

Task manager and task scheduler aren't tools to diagnose a malware infection. No point in using them

No, they aren't, they were never designed to be proper malware tools
Malware utilizes sometimes detection of the Task manager process and you also lack a lot of important tools in Task manager.
Same with Task scheduler, some malware is able to not display itself in task scheduler.

Yes and no. They can help u see it if its obvious. Most aint though. One of the best things u can do if ur super suspicious that antimalware scans arent catching it is look in your %temp% folder. Anything like .exe, .bat, .cmd, etc in ur temp folder is a red flag. If you know a little bit more about computers u can use Windows + R and type "eventvwr.msc" but, at the same time if u dont this can just be confusing and cause paranoia. The main one u wanna look at is 4688 in security. Most of these will just be normal windows and microsoft things. Keep in mind im NOT an expert by any means like the other guy who responded here is, but i do know a little bit. Paranoia can be just as much a system destroyer as malware can. U see the wrong thing, (such as anything related to SixUnited's OSD.exe which has no descriptions on the services). And u delete them and suddenly dont have the caps lock notification. And if you see malware that ur antimalware isnt catching, its best to get experts on bleepingcomputer.com, who are super helpful with that stuff rather than try to handle it yourself because many will attempt to create registry keys for startup to bring it back. And, trust me. Very few people out there except some of the best of the best have the right knowledge and skill to read regedit safely lol. And again take what i say with a grain of salt as im not a computer expert like many of the other people here but i hope it does shed some extra light too.

none of the circled processes are malicious, they are standard, core components of windows, settings is the modern windows settings app that handles, as you might've guessed, the settings, the windows default lock screen controls the background and display of your lock screen, search manages the windows search bar and start menu query features, which is why it occasionally uses a bit of cpu/ram when active, also, task manager is not an antivirus, modern viruses can hide very easily under other processes with DLL injection, rendering task manager useless for stuff like this, if you want to know if you actually have viruses use something like malwarebytes or kaspersky virus removal tool

Those are safe. However, the usage could indicate that the computer is older and may be time for an upgrade.

settings means settings, and search is js the service used by windows when u search up stuff on ur computer. the windows default lock screen is js the process used by windows for ur lock screen. just dont fiddle too much with the settings and menus and buy antiviruses for system processes 😭ull just probs waste ur time lmao

Why you guys are acting stupid in the comments ? OP's obviously asking if those tasks/services are the "original" ones from Windows, or if it is malware that pretends to be them. This is literally a pro malware sub, you guys should be aware of these.
