File / URL Check Clicked a twitter scam link

Just for clarity, the first image is what sites the post took me to while the second pic is what the post looked like, though it isn’t the exact post and had a different link.

It was in the replies of another normal post, I accidentally clicked it but closed the tab once I realized it wasn’t a photo. I closed before the last tab loaded but looking at my history, I guess it directed me to other links before hand.

I didn’t do anything besides click, and close the tab. Nothing else, so there is part of me that believes I am alright, but I have no idea what’s in these links, so I can’t help but say I am afraid.

This was done on the chrome app of my iPhone. If anyone can help out or determine how dangerous these links are I would truly appreciate it. 🙏

I didn’t do anything besides click, and close the tab.

Then you're fine and it doesn't matter what's behind those links anyways.

I searched up the hai8g link and malware bytes says its riskware. Also a screenshot from that site has this photo which is suspicious. Does that mean anything? Also the blogspot link says it’s connected to aliexpress on virus total.

Does that mean anything?

It doesn't matter if it's malware, advertisement, legitimate content whatever that's hosted on the page.

If you only visited the website without entering data/installing something/... you're fine.

But fine, quick check:

  • hxxps[://]viral-cdn23[.]blogspot[.]com redirects to hxxps[://]hai8g[.]com/4/10399502/ which redirects to different destinations, so it's difficult to say where exactly you would have landed. I had those two so far:
    • Aliexpress with an affiliate link in URL
    • hxxps[://]digidigi[.]xyz/ - some vibecoded download prompt for "Secure File Download", when you click on it you get redirected to opera.com with the parameters utm_source=PWNgames&utm_medium=pa&utm_campaign=PWN_AT_SVR_9482_WEB_3457 in the URL

Nothing malicious in either case, someone is just hoping for ad/referrer/affiliate revenue by people clicking the link and randomly sticking around.

Okay, that’s all I needed to hear honestly 😅. Thank you for the reassurance.

You can never be sure when it comes to cyber security.

Theoretically, yes, if their device was outdated and said redirect downloaded something on their device, bypass the sandboxing system (which is not going to happen unless you’re some high value target or something) then they could get actual malware and and their information stolen just from visitting a site.

I have an I phone 15 pro and did this in the chrome app, so I’m gonna come to the conclusion everything should be fine, Thanks.

It’s weird asf to think this way, the post was literally about the 4k dvd release of a popular movie from the 90’s. Get your mind outta the gutter 🫩
