Question Pea hulls: Greens or Browns?
My current pile is turning into sludge and is in desperate need of browns. I'll compost these either way but will these work as browns or will I just need to rake a ton of leaves?

If it dies on the plant and falls off, it is a brown. If you pull something living off of a plant, its a green.

They're browns. Dried out pods like that are mostly carbon at this point. The greenish ones will break down faster but they're still carbon-heavy compared to grass clippings or kitchen scraps. Toss em in and see if it balances out the sludge
