Troubleshooting | Windows Google account password saved in browser is suddenly gone
I cant log back into my google account because the password doesnt automatically fill back in and I have no idea what that password was. My account is managed by a college I attended ages ago, I'll shoot them an email for a password reset and hope that works, but it would be much easier if I could simply get chrome back into the same state it was last week when it worked without issues. Does anyone have any idea?
Using Version 155.0.8059.40 on Windows 11

If Chrome is signed in and your passwords still exist at passwords.google.com, but Chrome Password Manager shows nothing locally, the local account password database may be corrupted.
What fixed it for me:
- Confirm your passwords are still visible at passwords.google.com first.
- In Chrome, open
chrome://versionand note your Profile Path. - Fully close Chrome.
- In that profile folder, back up these files:
Login Data For AccountLogin Data For Account-journal
- Rename them to:
Login Data For Account.oldLogin Data For Account-journal.old
- Reopen Chrome, wait a minute, then check:
chrome://password-manager/passwords
Chrome recreated the account password database and pulled my passwords back from my Google account.
Important: Don’t delete or rename the regular Login Data file unless you know what you’re doing, because it may contain local-only passwords. Back everything up first.
Tbh Use chatgpt cuz i used powershell command.
