Troubleshooting | Android Chrome and Google duplicates tabs when doing a search.
Anytime I search something instead of using the same tab it duplicates it. It's getting really annoying. I tried other browsers, disabled chrome and set a number of other browsers as default. I have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean that when you visit the google.com website, type a query into the box, then tap one of the links in the list of results, it opens in a new tab? Or are you searching using one of the many other methods to search?

No normal search result open in a new tab (not links). I'm not sure if I'm explaining it correctly.

Well, you said "Anytime I search something", and apparently that's not exactly what you meant. I suggest explaining in greater detail.
What do you see on your screen? Your phone's home screen, with a bunch of icons? Where do you tap? Perhaps your home screen has a search box? Where is it on the screen, the top? The bottom? Are there are icons or marks on it that might tell us which of the various possible Android search boxes it might be, such as Chrome's? Or are you in some app like Chrome, and you're typing a search into its URL box?
Linking to a screen shot or video is one way of communicating what you mean, but if you don't know how, a lot of words can work too.

Whenever I do a simple search (not links) on Google or Chrome instead of staying on the same page it duplicates and opens up the new duped page. I don't open up any links. I tried to add a screen recording but I guess it subreddit won't let.
