Just started a rewatch and my opinion of Jesse is…

He is a perfect sweet innocent boy who only wants to learn and be a good student to Mr. White

He has never done anything wrong, ever, in his life

No I won’t be debating this

Peddling meth to folks in a 12 step program. Classy.

yeah then it's no biggie! Coke and heroin addicts can deal with the purest meth ever

Do we know for sure she was married?

You really think someone sleeping with season 1 Jesse would be employed??

She’d have to be employed in order to get to live next to a meth lab flop house.

We don’t know that

What is wrong with that? It’s the person who made marriage vows whose responsibility it is not to cheat, not random strangers.

He gets a girl re-hooked on heroin when she was trying to quit and she subsequently overdoses and dies

Well actually 🤓 it was Jane who recommended heroine to Jesse. She saw he was worked up so she naturally offered him heroine to help calm him down

That was her choice

He's ok but he definitely has pretty privilege. If he weren't as attractive I think he'd get called out a bit more

He’s a cutie but I still stand by what I said

He tried to get people who were trying to get off meth back on it out of pure greed.

His crimes are serious. You really shouldn't overlook them just because of attraction.

I wouldn’t say innocent, he has done a lot of bad things. But he is a sweet boy looking for guidance after his parents gave up on him :(

I PROMISE u wouldn’t think this if he wasn’t attractive.

Jesse is like “broken innocence”. He’s introduced as a dumb junkie. Jesse has a soft spot for kids and innocent people because he doesn’t care about junkies or criminals but his number one prerogative is to keep innocent people out of crime. When Jesse’s brother is smoking weed, not only Jesse takes the blame but he also tells him not to smoke it. He gave drug money to Andrea to help her. And other examples.

You see an interesting dynamic between Walt and Jesse. Keep in mind that Walt forced Jesse to partner with him or he’d turn him in. Remember this. Jesse reluctantly joined Walt. Many times, Walt treats Jesse like a son. And Jesse sees in Walt some of the parenting that his real father never did. Jesse flunked out of high school chem, yet he mastered synthesizing high purity meth within a year. But Walt also leveraged Jesse as a pawn. When Gus questioned Walt’s attachment to Jesse, Walt admitted that he valued controlling Jesse. When Jesse caught on, Jesse decided to betray Hank. Nevertheless, when Walt decided to kill Jesse, he felt reluctant to do so. And especially, in BCS, you discover that Walt’s biggest regret was the way he treated Jesse.

I thought this was at least partially satire 'cause yeah a lot of people love Jesse as a character and people in fandom spaces fawn over their favorite characters; but seeing you actively debate people pointing out his genuine flaws just reeks of media illiteracy or willful ignorance.
