Discussion Blender makes a pretty decent basic video editor (or animator?).

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It's the only video editor I've found that actually has smooth scrolling with my touchpad on Linux Wayland. It feels like it could replace a chunk if not the entire Adobe suite for some. I like that you can make changes as it plays, how efficient it feels (recording doesn't show this too well), and that it has been getting more attention in recent updates.

I'm not new to Blender, just spreading awareness in case someone wanted to try a free video editor option (I use it solely). I wish exports were faster (it barely uses my PC's resources), and it's kinda cumbersome having to use "alt" to apply changes to all selected strips (although I kinda get it). I also had to revert to 4.5 LTS due to 5.2 LTS crashing.

Just checked out the alpha. They've already improved it more! Still going to wait quite a bit though.

The newest version of Blender (not quite released) improves it a lot too.

The script for that video was made with AI. I'm not gonna waste my time when I could just read the official release notes.

It's pretty good. And you have compositor to use with it.
