BattleBots How well do you think a single twin would do in the earlier seasons?
With all the advancements in technological and with how volatile the sport has become, obviously any modern day robot would’ve dominated in earlier seasons. But how would just 1 singular twins do? They’ve got all the modern advancements, but they’re still only 125 lbs. Put them in the first three seasons, and assume that they’re able to do a full repair for each fight. How does he do?

Bot Building In my Opinion, this pro league has proven how effective bots with light weapons but high maneuverability can be.
5 of the quarter finals bots were rookies, and 3 of them had lightweight weapons but having a tactical advantage in other categories( The twins having 2 bots, Orbitron having 2 spinners to counter gyro and Terrortops with its lifter). I think that this has kind of proved that bots dont need to have a big heavy weapon to succeed.

Bot Building 3D Printing Hardware and Courses for Antweights
After years of Hexbugs and other toys, I finally took a step up to kit bots from Palm Beach Bots (plastic Antweights) and Fingertech (Viper). I want to start printing my replacement parts for these bots. Eventually, I want to get to the point where I'm building my own custom designs.
I'm not an engineer, so everything will be learned for the first time. From hardware selection to the actual design and drafting process. Any recommendations on resources? I don't see myself going beyond Antweights for at least a few years.

BattleBots TV It's confirmed, this week would be the semi-finals
I hope either one of my picks, or even both of them (Minotaur and Manta) advances to the final for the Gojo vs Sukuna-esque fight. The strongest drum spinner in history vs the strongest drum spinner of today

BattleBots Since it has been announced that this week will be the semi finals . I'm confused how they are going to fill the twenty episodes are they going to bring back average league or another small tournament . What do you think and assume could happen.

BattleBots Would you guys say that Orbitron was the first bot to really test Manta
Most of the shots were in manta’s favour, but I would say that Orbitron really highlighted some of manta’s biggest weaknesses. Also, when i say this, I mean in Battlebots, not robogames. I’m aware many bots have tested manta in that competition.

BattleBots TV Which Pro League fight here is the most chaotic?
My personal opinion is GF vs The Twins, but Ribbot vs DeathRoll is also chaotic. I mean, DeathRoll was flip flopping, almost like a politician.

BattleBots Were flamethrowers disallowed in Pro League or did teams just choose not to use them?
I saw Gassycat in the ring, I think, but no fire. I don't really have an opinion on flamethrowers, I'm just curious.

Bot Building Weapons Rules for Heavyweights
To preface, this mainly pertains to Battlebots but most of the heavyweight tournaments follow their lead, so my points may prove relevant to other leagues.
We all know about the Deep Six rule, as well as the tip speed limits, which enforce a cap on the size and power of a robot’s spinning weapon. However, Meltybrains joining Battlebots (called ‘Whole-Body Spinners’ in the official rules) got me thinking about other ways of capping weapon power.
What if the limits were instead placed on Total Kinetic Energy? The current most powerful weapon theoretically possible would weigh 80lbs and have a tip speed of 250mph. Of course, weapon diameter and geometry can influence the total energy transferred upon a hit (e.g. Deep Six’s immense weapon diameter, eggbeater drums, etc.), but it should still be theoretically possible to calculate the total kinetic energy output of a spinning weapon. Therefore, it should be feasible to enforce a rule where every bot’s spinning weapon is equal to or less than this theoretical limit. For example, a bot could have a 10lbs weapon spinning at 350mph or a 125lbs weapon spinning at 80mph and still comply with the ruling, as both are within the limit.
Here is my reasoning for this change. The weapon limits are not for competitive reasons but for safety and maintenance reasons. A weapon that is too powerful has potential to breach the box (e.g. Nightmare during the Comedy Central era) or to damage the floor panels leading to massive delays (e.g. Deep Six). A Meltybrain shaped like Project Liftoff, for example, would be unlikely to regularly cause the kind of floor damage that Deep Six created, as the weapon geometry would not be able to create the kind of energy transfer needed to damage the floor in that way. The same holds true for a Hammersaw with a 400mph tip speed, as it would be far more likely to punch a hole in the floor panels rather than bending them.
Regardless, I would really like to hear what the competitors and fans of this subreddit think!

BattleBots Thoughts on an uneven floor to reduce ground game as a factor?
I was thinking it might be interesting if, instead of a (relatively) flat floor, there was a ridged or uneven floor, making ground-scraping forks more of a liability (well, even more so than the saw slots). Aside from possible difficulty in manufacturing and maintaining it, what are people's thoughts on that? (would also presumably reduce the effectiveness of magnets, for better or for worse.)

Did I hear the latest episode right, and battlebots requires all bots to use a Telemetry module which they provide to the teams?

BattleBots TV Witch Doctor standing their ground on weight makes sense when you look at the distribution
Instead of thinking about weight as absolutes, aka 250lb vs 250.8lb colliding, think of the configuration.
By driving a minibot, which weighs 15-20lb, Mad Catter is putting a handicap on their primary bot. WD could reasonably expect to win both full speed and pushing contests throughout the fight, at the expense of having to worry about the second bot.
At this point, it’s probably a 248lb bot pushing against a 235lb opponent, enough to make a significant difference. However by creeping the weight limit, now even a single pound of additional weight actually has the potential to tip the scales making the primary bots more even by adding momentum, traction and decreasing air time.
The fight was great and I’m glad there was no ill will, but their protest definitely had practical considerations and wasn’t just an attempt to stall or get their opponent DQ’d.

BattleBots In you opinions, would episode 16 be a "filler week" or straight up semifinals? Spoiler
I have a feeling that next week would be a "filler week", and its about the eliminated bots in the quarterfinals competing in a mini tournament like the Average League in episode 13. What do you guys think?
