Sidewalks mean nothing
Parked at a local donut shop. Front bumper was pushed against the sign but not sure if it was already damaged or not, couldn't get a photo before the guy left

This is a prime example of how ridiculous these newer trucks are. Completely oversized for reality.
We had issues with one in my community for a while that stuck out into an already cramped road and blocked it so it effectively became one lane.
I get the need for a truck, I own one from the early 00's that's old school Ranger-adjacent, but I don't get the need for something that big if you don't live in the country or use it for work or to constantly haul and move stuff... Because that's what trucks like that are for, not every day commuting. It's just a "Look at me" mobile.
It slams fuel, is too big to effectively park in most places reasonably, and is a testament to consumerism and being the center of attention at the deficit of everyone else.
These trucks actively scream "I don't give a fuck about anyone but me" in anything outside of a country or heavy work environment where they belong.
I bet the bed barely even has a single scratch or sign of use.

This is why I bought a ridgeline. Fits everywhere, comfy for daily driving or long distance, and I can huck shit into the back of it when needed.

"It slams fuel, is too big to effectively park in most places reasonably, and is a testament to consumerism and being the center of attention at the deficit of everyone else."
This perfectly describes how I see them. I like smaller older trucks. It's these monstrosities that don't have so much as a scratch to show to be a working vehicle.

There is a huge market for older trucks for a reason right now. Older trucks are going for well over KBB value at the moment because people want reliable, serviceable vehicles that aren't full of electronics, are actually decently sized, and have alright-ish fuel economy.
The new stuff is just junk that is designed obsolescence in my opinion.

tl;dr: I knew of a guy with a truck he didn’t need, therefore every one I see outside of what I’ve deemed an appropriate backdrop is also unnecessary.
Edit: Downvoted for summarizing a pointless novel into a sentence. You people are exactly what they say about you.

Wow way to make assumptions just because the bed doesn't get used doesn't mean he doesn't tow with it.
Also parking spots have also been getting progressively thinner and shorter a lot of companies aren't even bothering to size them according to the state size requirements because they're trying to cram in more spots for more cars.
If he had parked regular you would be complaining about the bed sticking out too far from the parking spot.

That spot isn't designed for that size of truck. If you buy a truck that large you should be prepared to park down the road.

The truck is too big to park there. Needs to park on a side street and walk the rest of the way

u/DarthVaden87 1d ago
Absolutely not, it's not their fault the parking spots aren't big enough.

You're unintentionally furthering my points with whatever you think you're accomplishing.
The vehicle is too big to be parked there. It causes issues either way, therefore, it does not belong in the spot. Nobody cares about the semantics and excuses as to why. It's the reality of it. It's not courteous to park that behemoth there either way.

I know where that is! That sign has been down awhile and I think it was damaged slightly before but it does look like he bumped it a little.

Alternative is that he blocks the drive thru behind him…..ideally he would have picked a better spot entirely; but this makes me think he’s the owner of the store and parks in this spot often

Ah yes, here come the truck defenders to somehow claim this is acceptable because truck.

Do you need a gender-affirming truck?
0
u/Actionplumber1 1d ago
no need, i know my gender and there are only 2 genders
2
u/Beginning_Annual5816 1d ago
two sexes, gender is a social construct. Sex refers to biological and anatomical parts, while gender is social dynamics, behaviors, and such.
So i guess you do need a gender affirming truck

Maggats driving a maggatmobile believe everything is their property. How else will they demonstrate their level of entitlement if they don’t do shit like what they’re doing in the pic?

I hate it, I hate stupidly large trucks, but if the alternative is he blocks flow in that obviously cramped parking lot, at least he made the conscientious choice.

It’s hilarious how unreasonable trucks and the dudes that drive them have become. As they get bigger and the dudes that buy them get bolder, it’s easy to see the pattern.
