Political Question Are federal agents raiding Ilhan Omar and example of political persecution ? Why is the government specifically targeting and double guessing her paper work after 20 years?

Why are Americans letting this happen? It feels like the country is falling apart.

10 hours? It would take me 4 days of driving to get to DC.

But also, the Russian peasantry organized to revolt against the Czar. China organized to revolt and establish state communism.

Those two countries are similar in size to the USA. So it's not impossible, just difficult.

No, both of those circumstances involved vastly more suffering among the populace. The US would need to get considerably worse to have any real chance of a genuine popular uprising.

As bad as things are, all but the absolute worst-off people in the country have vastly better lives, and vastly better prospects, compared to those times. Not to mention a lot more to lose.

Haha. After literal centuries of repression those things happened. Yes

I was responding to a comment about the size of the country, not making a comparison on the relative oppression of the population.

Right, but you mentioned them in a thread of conversation in which people are talking about France (country which has perpetual protest and in which mass protests are easy to organize).

"Yeah, and Russia and China revolted extremely rarely over the course of centuries!" is not actually piggybacking off that point
