Political Question Are federal agents raiding Ilhan Omar and example of political persecution ? Why is the government specifically targeting and double guessing her paper work after 20 years?

Why are Americans letting this happen? It feels like the country is falling apart.

Because fascism is the natural progression of capitalism. The U.S. has been exporting fascism around the globe for decades. It was only a matter of time and a slow economy before it came home

The US has been exploring fascism since the Confederacy.

And the lack of true accountability for the rebellion of the traitor Confederates is a big part of why we're here.

I would argue that it started on day one. It wasn’t called fascism back then. It was called colonialism, but the basic idea was there; consolidation of power, exploitation of resources and labor, demonization of the “other.”

Chickens. Coming home to roost.

No, it isn’t.

Compelling argument but it’s science, bitch

You lot haven't any clue what "science" is, nor reality itself.

Your stupid screeches of "Fascism!" are completely meaningless. Just makes you look like uneducated, brainwashed fools. And shows you clearly have no legitimate argument to make.

Right, while your argument is ”I’m right.”

I’m simply using Hitschens’s razor.

OK post this "science" then.

You can tell that it’s science because of the comma before bitch

Because fascism is the natural progression of capitalism.

JFC. Always leave it to reddit to get to the dumbest fucking conclusion ever.

Fascism is opposed to the free market. Fascism is inherently illiberal. It is inherently anti-capitalist. Fascists have their own type of economics and it resembles state socialism more than free market capitalism, though it is neither. Nationalist, planned economy, heavy government control, etc.

Meanwhile, capitalism brought about the highest standard of living in human history.

“Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.” — Benito Mussolini

Yes. Fascists basically take over private capital in all but an official capacity, or nationalize the industries. Most "capitalist" entities under fascists had to do whatever the government said or face dire consequences. Trump is a lot like that. He hasn't nationalized corporations but he tells them what to do and uses the power of the government to control them.

But that is fascism taking over capitalism, not capitalism causing fascism. It's like with the horrors of communism. It's not the L/R spectrum so much as the state taking over and acting brutally. Taking away freedoms. Authoritarianism is what causes fascism, not any particular economic strategy.

Wrong. It's not government taking control of corporations. It's corporations taking over government. It's regulatory capture and government yielding to corporate interests over the will of the people. It's basic Republican policy.

So if capitalism causes fascism, why aren't any capitalist nations fascist? And why is the standard of living so much higher in capitalist countries than socialist countries? Along with the Human Freedom Index? Hell, people in capitalist countries even have a higher self reported happiness rate.

Corporatism is not capitalism either. I guess you think unions are fascist?

Capitalism must be protected by a strong military or it would cease to exist. The richest capitalist nation spends more on the military than the next three countries. America has spent decades forcing its economic system on weaker countries around the globe. In every instance, this coercion is extremely bloody and illiberal. They literally install fascist dictators in place of democratically elected governments to ensure that their economic
Interests are protected. Fascism is just capitalism for countries who don’t want to be exploited. Now that more Americans are gaining class consciousness, fascism is coming for them as well.

Oh right. I forgot that the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, etc. didn't build strong militaries. And how their people and those of Cambodia, Ethiopia, Cuba, etc. were so prosperous and free, right?

Yes, only capitalists do war. Leftists like Pol Pot were perfect angels. And we've seen that leftist nations like North Korea are just a paradise on Earth.

And other real smart stuff believed by reddit!

What was Stalin's solution? Tell us about the Red Terror and what that was. Compared to the "evil" capitalists.

Ummm.... Plenty of what the US has done to other countries meets your definition.

You maybe don't read enough about US foreign policy from non-US sources.
