Political Question Are federal agents raiding Ilhan Omar and example of political persecution ? Why is the government specifically targeting and double guessing her paper work after 20 years?

Why are Americans letting this happen? It feels like the country is falling apart.

Fascism

15

u/Big_Liability 10h ago

Why are right wing voters so for blatant fascism?

13

u/Ok_Arachnid1089 10h ago

Because fascism is the natural progression of capitalism. The U.S. has been exporting fascism around the globe for decades. It was only a matter of time and a slow economy before it came home

3

u/Geichalt 5h ago

The US has been exploring fascism since the Confederacy.

And the lack of true accountability for the rebellion of the traitor Confederates is a big part of why we're here.

1

u/Ok_Arachnid1089 3h ago

I would argue that it started on day one. It wasn’t called fascism back then. It was called colonialism, but the basic idea was there; consolidation of power, exploitation of resources and labor, demonization of the “other.”

4

u/Inspect1234 10h ago

Chickens. Coming home to roost.

1

u/DrCablelove 9h ago

No, it isn’t.

1

u/Ok_Arachnid1089 8h ago

Compelling argument but it’s science, bitch

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

You lot haven't any clue what "science" is, nor reality itself.

Your stupid screeches of "Fascism!" are completely meaningless. Just makes you look like uneducated, brainwashed fools. And shows you clearly have no legitimate argument to make.

1

u/DrCablelove 1h ago

Right, while your argument is ”I’m right.”

I’m simply using Hitschens’s razor.

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 8h ago

OK post this "science" then.

2

u/Dry_Search7009 8h ago

You can tell that it’s science because of the comma before bitch

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 8h ago

Because fascism is the natural progression of capitalism.

JFC. Always leave it to reddit to get to the dumbest fucking conclusion ever.

Fascism is opposed to the free market. Fascism is inherently illiberal. It is inherently anti-capitalist. Fascists have their own type of economics and it resembles state socialism more than free market capitalism, though it is neither. Nationalist, planned economy, heavy government control, etc.

Meanwhile, capitalism brought about the highest standard of living in human history.

2

u/MadScientistOfYork 6h ago

“Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.” — Benito Mussolini

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 3h ago

Yes. Fascists basically take over private capital in all but an official capacity, or nationalize the industries. Most "capitalist" entities under fascists had to do whatever the government said or face dire consequences. Trump is a lot like that. He hasn't nationalized corporations but he tells them what to do and uses the power of the government to control them.

But that is fascism taking over capitalism, not capitalism causing fascism. It's like with the horrors of communism. It's not the L/R spectrum so much as the state taking over and acting brutally. Taking away freedoms. Authoritarianism is what causes fascism, not any particular economic strategy.

0

u/MadScientistOfYork 3h ago

Wrong. It's not government taking control of corporations. It's corporations taking over government. It's regulatory capture and government yielding to corporate interests over the will of the people. It's basic Republican policy.

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 3h ago

So if capitalism causes fascism, why aren't any capitalist nations fascist? And why is the standard of living so much higher in capitalist countries than socialist countries? Along with the Human Freedom Index? Hell, people in capitalist countries even have a higher self reported happiness rate.

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 1h ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporatism

Corporatism is not capitalism either. I guess you think unions are fascist?

1

u/Ok_Arachnid1089 7h ago

Capitalism must be protected by a strong military or it would cease to exist. The richest capitalist nation spends more on the military than the next three countries. America has spent decades forcing its economic system on weaker countries around the globe. In every instance, this coercion is extremely bloody and illiberal. They literally install fascist dictators in place of democratically elected governments to ensure that their economic
Interests are protected. Fascism is just capitalism for countries who don’t want to be exploited. Now that more Americans are gaining class consciousness, fascism is coming for them as well.

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 3h ago

Oh right. I forgot that the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, etc. didn't build strong militaries. And how their people and those of Cambodia, Ethiopia, Cuba, etc. were so prosperous and free, right?

Yes, only capitalists do war. Leftists like Pol Pot were perfect angels. And we've seen that leftist nations like North Korea are just a paradise on Earth.

And other real smart stuff believed by reddit!

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 3h ago

What was Stalin's solution? Tell us about the Red Terror and what that was. Compared to the "evil" capitalists.

0

u/Upperlimitofmean 7h ago

Ummm.... Plenty of what the US has done to other countries meets your definition.

You maybe don't read enough about US foreign policy from non-US sources.

3

u/Soft_Walrus_3605 10h ago

It's an innate feeling of fear and need for control. They're hardwired for it.

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

Here you have only described yourself, and other rabid-leftist authoritarians. As usual with democrats, most of their accusations are projections of their OWN desires.

1

u/ainthunglikedaddy 10h ago

Because in theory it will be the straight white Christian male people that come out on top. So they will see everyone that isn’t the above stated suffer.

1

u/luckyhubby77777 2h ago

They vote however their Pastor tells them to vote.

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

They are not. You just have zero clue what that word means, and have been brainwashed by democrat party propaganda.

You have no legitimate argument, so resort to juvenile name calling. In reality, it's a projection of your OWN fantasies of authoritarian brutality, nothing more.

1

u/Livid_Tart_11 6h ago

You’re giving too much credit to Gentile. Fascism hasn’t been a serious political force for over eighty years. At least according to Dr. Stanley Payne, expert on European fascism and the Spanish Civil War.

1

u/manicdee33 4h ago

Is Dr Payne perhaps referring to a specific Fascism-with-a-capital-F?

1

u/Livid_Tart_11 3h ago

Of course, that’s why such incredible efforts are taken to research, categorize, define, and trace the historical progression of ideologies. Using this term as a label for positions entirely divorced from fascism’s epistemological tradition is asinine.

How’s it any different than braindead republicans calling milquetoast social democracy communism?

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

Your rediculous shaming attempts with that shit don't work anymore bud. You lot have cried wolf with your "Fascism!!" screeching to long. It's meaningless.

And it describes you rabid-leftist authoritarian collectivists, FAR more than any you accuse of it.

You just make yourself look foolish. It only proves you have no legitimate argument.

-4

u/CtrlAltDelight78 11h ago

i grew up in an actual fascist regime, Americans have no clue what fascism is lmao

13

u/EQwingnuts 10h ago

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can understand something without being born into it. I dunno why the lmao part is needed

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

I'm pretty sure you can understand something without being born into it.

That is possible, but in this case, obviously false.

You rabid-leftists call anything right of Marx "fascist". You just make yourselves look like fools, spewing such idiotic nonsense.

You've cried wolf too long with that bullshit. Nobody is listening anymore.

-1

u/northburger10 10h ago

Because we’re privileged as fuck and don’t understand what real suffering is lmao

8

u/Ok_Advertising_8874 10h ago

I think the idea is preventing that from happening here when it feels like every choice Trump makes is incrementally facilitating it.

2

u/manicdee33 7h ago

I don't have to have been born in a car accident to understand that not getting into a car accident is a good idea.

1

u/northburger10 6h ago

Weird analogy but you were lucky to not have been born in a car accident, the majority of the rest of the world aren’t so lucky and don’t have the same opportunities. We “suffer” in America but we could’ve been born anywhere else and it could be so much worse

2

u/manicdee33 6h ago

"It could be so much worse" is not a reason to make things so much worse.

If you know a particular path is going to lead to disaster, why take it?

1

u/northburger10 6h ago

Whether things get better or worse is irrelevant, the point is that you’re lucky to not have been born in a village in Africa or in the Gaza Strip or anywhere else.

Americans don’t know suffering in totality the way others around the world do. We have first world problems where people complain there isn’t enough water pressure because they live on the fifth floor of an apartment complex and their grocery store is out of frozen pizza

1

u/manicdee33 6h ago

Americans don’t know suffering in totality the way others around the world do

This is irrelevant.

We have first world problems

This is also irrelevant.

You are discussing the current situation as if nothing can possibly change. The discussion is about where things could end up if things continue to change the way they are changing now.

The grocery store will be out of a lot more than frozen pizza if the US government keeps alienating trading partners and shutting down domestic agriculture.

1

u/northburger10 5h ago

I don't think you actually understand what I'm saying. You're arguing a completely different issue about what gets better and what gets worse which is across from my point entirely. I'm saying you're lucky to be born in the western world over a poor village in India, those people know suffering, the western world doesn't, we have first world problems, other people are trying to get by with a war in their country, poverty, famine and lack of basic needs.

You keep talking about progression and how things can get better due to systems WE HAVE that other's don't (Like trading partners), which again is a political issue that is another topic entirely, and is therefore irrelevant.

If you can't argue why you're not in a better position, and a luckier person, over a person living in a village in Africa, who is ACTUALLY suffering, then you're missing my point. Again, we have first world problems, nobody would disagree with that.

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

This "car accident" you're speaking of is a fantasy sold to you by democrat party propaganda. It has nothing to do with reality.

You should turn CNN off and get off of reddit for a while. You're delusional.

-6

u/CtrlAltDelight78 10h ago

because it’s insane that only on reddit i see this ridiculous fascism claim while everyone else has common sense this part of the internet dooms about every little thing claiming fascism when the US couldn’t be anything further than fascism. idk if it’s people upset about election results or the echochamber is just continuously echoing this but it’s genuinely hysterical how ridiculous the claim is. and that’s why independents sadly look at the democratic party as a joke when the large majority of the party don’t even agree with this

5

u/Inspect1234 10h ago

So you’re ignoring the administration ignoring the courts? The concentration camps where people are disappeared? The private armies being sent to blue states? The blocking of federal money to blue states? The fact that the only book Yam-tits has ever read was Mein Kampf? Oh. Ok.

1

u/Old_Bullfrog_5086 9h ago

Actually Trump studied a book of Hitler's speechs.

1

u/CtrlAltDelight78 8h ago

concentration camps? those “camps” have been open since the Obama admin… but nah they weren’t concentration camps then. and people disappearing? i’m hispanic and have multiple friends and family who have been deported in the past year and none have disappeared. this ridiculous nonsense is why the democratic party is the laughing stock and we lost the election because fake dems like you guys make the real dems look bad

1

u/Inspect1234 8h ago

Yeah. Ok. If you say so.

1

u/CtrlAltDelight78 7h ago

see this is why i got little respect for the ridiculous reddit left, you guys only care about hispanics when it’s continent to you guys. see ICE operations during Obama and Biden admins were fine but now that trump is doing it, it’s bad

1

u/Inspect1234 7h ago

It’s the lack of warrants and how the leaders declare cruelty is part of it. It’s the stories of US citizens being held for months. What’s the death toll up to now? Homeland security used to be lawful and discreet. Now they’re prolly going to do a pay-per viewing a firing squad. I’m not American btw

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

None of these lies you're repeating are happening.

Turn CNN off and your brain on.

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

As usual, absolutely nothing like a legitimate argument from the left.

Not everyone believes the same cult-like, belief-based bullshit you've been programed with. You should take a break from TV and reddit. You've completely lost touch with reality.

1

u/CtrlAltDelight78 8h ago

what does that have to do with this? listen i’ll roast righties all day and dummies that fell for that but holy shit dude don’t try to deflect when you got caught.

0

u/Exasperatess 8h ago

...Did you just feel a need to demonstrate why no actual adult takes you seriously lmfao

1

u/CtrlAltDelight78 7h ago

why by pointing out the truth? and how ridiculous your statements are

1

u/Exasperatess 6h ago

Yeahh the only people dumb enough to believe that already support trump...

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

You spelled "democrat party" wrong.

And again, you're only describing yourself and other rabid-leftist cult indoctrinates.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

So you’re ignoring the administration ignoring the courts?

Not in the least. Just not brainwashed by dem party propaganda into seeing shit that is simply not there.

None of the nonsense you're mindlessly regurgitating has anything to do with reality. You lot just make yourselves look like fools, talking about your own fantasies of authoritarian brutality, as if it has anything to do with anyone else but yourself.

3

u/Old_Bullfrog_5086 10h ago

Trump tried to become dictator in 2021. You believe ridiculous lies. Every legitimate news organization tells the truth about Trump. Enjoying the stupid war? Do you like seven dollar gasoline? Elon gutting the government and R Kennedy endangering the national health.

1

u/CtrlAltDelight78 8h ago

did he become one in 2021? no. and then in 2024 he won the election and is now in charge, that’s not really fascism. not to mention dems still hold seat in gov and were literally amidst mid terms right which is not very fascism, plus we have the presidential election in 2028 so still no dictator or fascism. and your complaints on war, gas and such have nothing to do with fascism. and lastly i don’t live in california so im only paying 3.50 a gallon

2

u/lameth 10h ago

If the only place you're seeing it is reddit I worry about what parts of the internet you frequent.

1

u/CtrlAltDelight78 8h ago

X, Insta, Facebook, tik tok, snap none of those places you find this nonsense

2

u/QbertsRube 10h ago

Where did you grow up?

2

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 8h ago

Yeah trump is an authoritarian asshole but redditors use the word fascism to describe it when Starbucks gets their coffee order wrong. According to redditors, 80% of Americans are either full fascists or willing fascist enablers.

I've even been told that Biden deporting wanted rapists is "fascism".

-14

LMFAO, she married her brother

6

u/dahile00 11h ago

…Source…?

0

The fact that he's her brother

-1

Source that they married, fashtard?

0

u/mattsffrd 9h ago

Fashtard? Really?

0

u/dahile00 8h ago

Really, really. Idiotically repeat a white fascist lie, get called a fashtard.

0

u/mattsffrd 8h ago

You need to go outside more

0

u/Exasperatess 8h ago

That's unironically coming from a pedo trump supporter that needs to spread baseless lies?

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

People that call Trump a pedo, are working for the actual pedos in the democrat party. You're only describing YOURSELVES.

The vast majority of people implicated in the Epstein files are democrats. The vast majority of Epstein's political spending, went to democrats. Dems tried to sweep the whole thing under the rug for 4 yers of Biden admin.

Trump was Epstein's worst nightmare. Worked with the prosecution all along, to take down Epstein & Maxwell's whole dirty operation.

You trying to push the crimes of your own party, on Trump, makes it clear you support and defend actual pedos.

Yet another case of fashtard projection. Where’s the proof she married her brother?

6

u/Regular-Basket-5431 11h ago

She didn't.

-1

u/mattsffrd 9h ago

She did

2

u/Regular-Basket-5431 8h ago

She didn't and a quick google search would confirm that.

Granted I'm not sure is people who hold on to that bizarre conspiracy are smart enough to use Google.

0

The judge that signed the order is a Dem. She's cooked.

How utterly convincing.... do you need the /s?

Ahmed Nur Said Elmi is literally her brother

2

u/MenagerieAlfred 10h ago

You have fallen for propaganda, hook line, and sinker. It’s kind of embarrassing for you.

1

Where’s your evidence?

Damn, you really don't have anything substantive lmfao.

Oh noo, a typo, wow.

1

u/Simon-Says69 1h ago

The current investigation isn't about the brother thing.

She's been living here illegally since she turned 18. Never changed the false name her father signed her up with. As an adult she's 100% responsible for fixing that, but refused to.

Also, she lied on her application at 17, claiming she was 18. Clear immigration fraud again.

Not to mention all the MASSIVE misappropriation of funds she's built her fortune with.

The woman hates America and has no place here. Back home with her.

0

u/Inspect1234 10h ago

Isn’t this a common occurrence in Southern states?

-7

u/Z28Daytona 10h ago

Get over it. Is everything you politically disagree with is due to Fascism?

3

u/OkraAlarmed4918 10h ago

It’s baby steps into fascism. Normalizing political persecutions and harassment by the party in power is a sign of fascism.

1

u/Rex_Beever 9h ago

Just the fascist stuff

If this is Fascism, what is the DOJ looking into Trump?

Edit* — lol at everyone’s cognitive dissonance and understanding that “we are the good guys so when we do it, it’s actually good”

16

u/evocativename 11h ago

Well, you see, they investigated him because there was actually evidence of a crime.

This is a US citizen being harassed by the President's gestapo for being a prominent dissenter in Congress despite there being zero evidence of any crime.

31

u/Eris_AppleOfDiscord 11h ago

The whataboutism doesn't work here. Trunp was asked fifteen months before the raid on Mar a Lago to return classified documents. He refused. The raid on Omar relates to documents her dad submitted to ins back in 95. There's no chance they find anything related to this in her home now. In fact, if there was immigration fraud, these documents would be the prime evidence.

-16

u/Ok_Swimming_306 11h ago

Biden was indicted for classified documents and the judge said he wasn’t cognizant enough to stand trial-during his presidency!

The raid on Trump was illegal.

12

u/jamoe1 11h ago

No it wasn’t. You are dumb as shit. Biden was also wrong, the difference is when he was made aware, he turned over the documents. He didn’t refuse, and then hide them.

This isn't true.

Biden did have classified documents. He was asked to return them. And he did.

Trump didn't return them, and ignored orders to do so for fifteen months.

6

u/JabariTeenageRiot 10h ago

Biden was never indicted, the judge said no such thing, and the sole source that the raid is illegal is people so pathetically submissive to Trump that they should be studied in a lab. You are badly garbling your propaganda.

2

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 8h ago

The raid on Trump was illegal.

Then why did Trump appointed judges rule that it was perfectly legal?

2

u/AlmanorDiscard 6h ago

Biden was indicted for classified documents and the judge said he wasn’t cognizant enough to stand trial-during his presidency!

Literally none of this is true.

lol at lying about the comparison then lying about the reasons given to explain it to you. You’d think if you had a good point that you could make it honestly but that’s servility for ya.

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 8h ago

There was blatant evidence trump broke the law. Multiple laws. In fact he tweeted out a confession at one point over the stolen documents. Literally claimed that property of the US government belonged to him and he wouldn't give it back because as a former president he just can have anything he wants.

0

u/Ok_Swimming_306 8h ago

There is blatant evidence that Ilhan Omar broke the law. The warrant was given by a Democratic judge.

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 3h ago edited 3h ago

What was the judge's name? What was the evidence?

If she did something wrong, I have no issue with her being investigated or charged. I think that's good. I am just very upset that republicans do everything in their power to stop trump from being held accountable for his blatant crimes.

-1

u/SLSMcKay 11h ago

Bro you know it's different trump is a nazi so its okay

1

u/I_am_the_darkness_99 8h ago

Trump also tweeted out a blatant confession to major felonies, as well as having the whistle blown on him by his own employees.

If Hillary Clinton posted on facebook that she had Charlie Kirk murdered, would it be fascism for the DOJ to investigate that claim?
