How to find your "style" as a painter? .. SWIPE for progress images

What a question. For too long I tried to answer it by thinking, looking at other artists work, trying to rationalize my way through to an answer. And long story short, that didnt work well. It just made me feel stuck.

What did work though: Doing paintings, a lot of paintings. Not just mindlessly but good efforts, Really trying to produce something I liked. Learning as I went along, improving on each piece with what I learned from the previous one.

It also made sense to set quite a bit of time aside each day, and on a longer time horizon as well. a 3 months, 4 hrs a day for example is a good stretch, which allows you to make some good progess.

This painting was part of such an exploration back in 2021.
Hope you like it

This is a piece I drew for my own benefit. I normally draw in ink and brush(traditional), or with a similar style to that in digital. I usually have harsh lines and contrast. In this piece I wanted to make outlines a bit softer.

I used a texture brush that I custom made for most of the piece, but used the Oil Paint, Oil Pastel, & Syrup brushes to clean it up.

I tried to use a limited color palette. The brownish-orange color, and the green background are the only colors outside of black & white.

I do stuff like this when I have artists block :)
Let me know what you think!

This was a gift for my friend Dan's 40th Birthday.

Patina effect with layered acrylic

I’ve painted a scene straight out of a fairy tale.

What sort of story do you imagine?

I'd love to hear your free thoughts.😊

Plz rate 1-10 (ofc 10 but still asking for opinions) HIGHLY ABSTRACT ARTTTTT >>>> kinda like the Mona Lisa by Leonardo DaVinci (kinda his twin icl)

Basically I got my inspiration for this art work during the dinosaur time...

I caught myself thinking abt water and was like "what if water could fall down?"

Many ppl thought that what I was thinking was insane - how cld water fall down, and where wld it fall...? did the earth even have a place for it somewhere ???

I decided to take in Albert Einsteins math footsteps and create this inspirational peice using art.

I decided to call my creation "The Waterfall"

The image displays a rocky mountain with flowers and grass and then, there ... the waterfall - an image of water falling down in a collection of more water!

Tried capturing the divine grace of three Devis together on canvas. Photos never fully do justice to the finer details, but I really hope you guys like how this turned out! Would love to hear your thoughts.
