Links to download apps on any site other than the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store are no longer allowed.

They're impossible to moderate and will no longer be allowed what so ever. Any post or comment in this sub not from either app store or a few common image hosting sites (ie, imgur, reddit, twimg/twitter) are automatically removed. Certain domains that are frequently spammed here are marked for either spam or banning of accounts (I won't list these domains for obvious reasons).

I made an app that lets Apple Shortcuts put information in your Dynamic Island

• Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on an iOS side project called Live Shortcut.

It started because I wanted certain information to stay visible on my Lock Screen and Dynamic Island instead of getting buried in notifications.

One example I’ve been experimenting with is checking whether I left my garage door open after leaving the house. I can use an automation in Apple Shortcuts to run when I leave home, check the garage door’s status, and show a warning in my Dynamic Island if it’s still open.

The app is free to download, and you can create your first Live Activity without paying.

I recently updated the app with a few premium features ($0.99/year or $6.99 one-time):
• Custom icons and color themes
• The ability to launch another Shortcut from a Live Activity
• Support for multiple Live Activities

I’d love to hear what other automations people would use this for!

Man I really wish there’s something that can help me track my subscriptions (other than google sheets). Something that can give me notifications, y’know? I’d very much appreciate if anyone could share anything they use.

I built an app to track my energy drink and caffeine consumption. Would love some feedback!

Hey everyone!

I've been working on an app called Energeia for a while now, and I wanted to share it here to get some feedback.

Currently its an app where you can scan an energy drink's barcode its logs all the information. All the energy drinks are saved on my database, so it's a growing dataset.

Still working on making improvements to design and features, but would love any feedback and happy to do the same for anyone!

Only available on iOS: Energeia App

Question / Discussion AppStore Wait Times - First-time Submissions

Submitted to the App store over a week ago. Got an almost instant request for more information (answer more questions, provide a video of the app in use). It's been 7 days since that additional info. was sent and the website still says "Waiting for review."

Anyone have recent first-time app store submission experience? Is there any way to get updates?

Have a cute idea for y'all

Post image

I am a software developer. I built a cute app, a shared camera roll for your event. Basically, you create an event and all your guests can join the event using a code and click cute pictures. These are not the perfect frame pictures. These are candids, fun and often slightly scandalous. The fun thing about this is also that you get to give some fun tasks to your guests. For example, imagine having a task "awkward picture with the couple", you are bound to get some super fun pictures clicked. Or another task "someone crying happy tears", your loved ones capturing truly memorable moments - the way they see it.

I would love for people to try this app. It's called "Kept". Available on both IOS and Android. Would love for you to DM and try it out!

I would love creating those memories for you!

LogMyDrives - App for New Drivers - Review

Some photos from the App Store

I have been using this app for a few weeks now.

My son just got his permit, and he's been looking for a way to make logging his drives easier. I was talking to some fellow parents in the same boat as me, and one of them directed me to this app.

It's a fairly new app, and it works surprisingly well for something that just got released. It's free to use for now (hopefully it stays that way) and it has been an excellent way for my son to track his driving to make sure he's getting in all his required hours. It takes into account nighttime drives and bad weather drives, both of which part of the DMV license requirements. It's little achievements based on different drives my son does are keeping him motivated to get his permit.

Some other features which we have benefited from which are on the app listing are:

  • Route replay maps - see the exact path driven at 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x speed
  • Supervisor approval - parents and guardians review and approve each drive
  • Day/night auto-detection based on sunrise and sunset at your location
  • Progress dashboard showing hours completed vs. required
  • PDF export ready for DMV submission with your state's official form name
  • Manual entry for drives you forgot to log
  • Multi-supervisor support — connect parents, grandparents, and instructors
  • Driver's ed mode — automatically adjusts hour requirements for states that offer reductions
  • Completely free - no ads, no in-app purchases, no premium tier

I got tired of typing URLs on other people's screens, so I built BeamTo

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Ever been in a situation where you wanted to open a link on a different device, but there was no convenient way to do it?
Say you're at a library and you want to read an article on the computer there. You don't want to log in to your personal accounts on a shared machine, and typing a long URL by hand is miserable. Same story with a hotel TV, a friend's computer, or a smart TV that only has a clunky browser.

That's why I built BeamTo. It's simple:
1. On the other device, open beamto.xyz in any browser. It shows a QR code.
2. On your iPhone, share any link to BeamTo.
3. Scan the QR code. The link opens right there.

Nothing to install on the other device, no account, no pairing.

It's a one-time $2.99 purchase, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. I'm the solo developer, so I'd really like honest feedback, especially from anyone who tries it on a TV or a kiosk browser. Android is in the works.

App I built a play-money dealerless craps game for Android — would love feedback from craps players

I’ve been a craps fan for years, and I recently finished an Android project I’ve been working on called Dealerless Craps: Roll Quest.

I wanted it to feel more like playing on an electronic/dealerless craps table than a typical mobile casino game. It’s strictly play-money — there are no deposits, withdrawals, cash prizes, or real-money gambling.

The game includes PLACE and BUY bets, Pass Line, Come, Horn and proposition bets, animated dice, table sounds, a locally saved virtual bankroll, and a side challenge I call Roll Quest where you work toward Low Run, High Run, or Full Quest combinations.

I designed it for both Android phones and tablets, there’s no account or sign-in required, and the only ads are optional rewarded ads for additional virtual credits.

I just released it publicly on Google Play after closed testing, and I’d really appreciate feedback from people who actually know craps.

I’m especially interested in whether the table feels intuitive on a phone, whether any important bets or features are missing, anything that’s hard to read or confusing, and of course any bugs you find.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kyairs.dealerlesscraps&pcampaignid=web_share

I’m still actively improving it, so constructive criticism is genuinely useful. I’d much rather hear what needs work than just be told it looks good. 🙂

It started life as a browser game and eventually became an Android app using Capacitor, so I’m also happy to talk about how it was built if anyone is interested.

I built an app for people who want to learn philosophy but struggle to make it actually stick

I’ve always been interested in philosophy, but I kept running into the same problem: I could read about an idea or watch someone explain it and feel like I understood it, then realize later that I couldn’t actually explain it myself.

That’s why I built The Agora: Learn Philosophy.

The idea is to make philosophy something you actively participate in instead of just consume. You can learn the foundations, explore different philosophers and their ideas, reflect on questions, and then actually test your understanding through interactive discussions and debates.

I don’t want it to replace books or original texts. My goal is to bridge that gap between “I read this” and “I actually understand this well enough to think with it.”

If you’ve ever wanted to get into philosophy but didn’t know where to start, or found that reading alone wasn’t enough for you, I’d love for you to try it.

App My puzzle app went live!! Suggestions/criticism/advice is very welcome

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi Reddit,

I'd like to share a game that I've been working on - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.binbear.gummylab - and I know that this game has been done a million times before, the classic blocks stacking game where rows and columns clear as you complete them.. I always loved puzzle games and I could play them for hours and I've started learning mobile development as a fresh cs graduate, so I thought why not make my own, in my own style, removing everything I found annoying in other games (ads, no offline play), and adding anything I saw fit.

The only thing that perhaps differentiates this game from all others, apart from the endless mode, is that I've crafted 50 custom levels so far with multiple different objectives and some that I haven't seen done in other games. I enjoyed creating every level trying to invent more level types, more different objectives, just to make the game play Fun and engaging.

As you know in order for an app to get approved for Google Play store it needs to go through two week period of testing. So I've shared this game with my friends and they all loved it lol but also hated me for making the levels so hard to beat xD

As the market is oversaturated with games I just thought to drop this here, so even if one person sees this and decides to download it to try it out I see that as a win.

Of course if anyone has any suggestions and ideas of improvement or things that I should add please let me know, I want to be making apps that people are actually going to use and like.

If you came this far, thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!

New Idea

I’m thinking of building this app for people making startups or side hustles. They type their business idea into an ai prompt and it makes a physical plan they have to follow through to get their side hustle/business started. They have to make social media pages, reminders to post on them, reaching out to people, help keep track of sales, giving u new ideas to your business as well as ideas to promote. It would be like duolingo to where you have a path to follow and complete as well as a streak for each day. Would yall use this or pay for this?

AudioCompanion app

So I recently started making a Mac specific audio control menu since I am not a huge fan of the default one. This one can individually control sound across sources, boost volume, search songs through your preferred streaming without having to open the app (right now only Spotify and Apple Music), and comes with a customizable companion that sits on your screen, either for basic controls, or just to have a little avatar vibe to the BPM of the current song, match the album color, play with his DJ deck, etc. Any feedback on how I can improve this? It's not public at all yet, just something I've been messing around with

Made a free-to-try app that tells you which parking garage level you're on, looking for feedback

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi all, I'm a solo dev and just shipped v1.1 of Parking Floor Tracker iOS App.
Instead of guessing, it reads your iPhone's barometer to work out your parking level, saves it with your GPS spot, and guides you back: which level, which direction, how far, with Apple Maps walking directions. You can also add a note like "Section C, pillar 14."
No account needed, and your saved spots stay on your device.
If you park in malls, airports, hospitals, or venues with multi-level garages,
I'd really appreciate you trying it and telling me what works and what doesn't.

Who’s Here: Remember People — a little help with names

Thumbnail testflight.apple.com
1 Upvotes

I used to go back to the same bars and cafés, recognize the people working there, and still have no idea what their names were.

So I started keeping little notes on my phone: their name, where we met, something we'd talked about. Before going back, I'd take a quick look. Then I could walk in, say their name, and pick up the conversation.

The reaction surprised me. That "wait, you remembered my name?" moment changes the whole interaction. You're suddenly having a conversation with someone you know. I've even been offered free stuff along the way, which was a nice surprise. Mostly, going back to those places just started feeling warmer and more familiar.

That's why I built Who's Here: Remember People. It's a little app for saving a name, a place, and the details you want to remember, without digging through a pile of Notes.

If there's a bar, café, gym, or shop you go to all the time and you're still calling everyone "hey," try saving just one person's name. Check it before your next visit and see how that hello feels.

I'm opening up the iPhone beta and would love a few people to try it in their everyday life. Even one visit would help. Tell me what felt useful, what was confusing, or what broke. You can leave feedback here or through TestFlight.

Thanks for giving it a try.

App Made a slack type Budgeting app : Okanize

Post image
1 Upvotes

Konnichiwa everyone!
We are a small team from Tokyo, Japan and have been building Okanize for half a year and are happy to launch it for everyone to use.

https://www.okanize.com/
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6762205109

TLDR:

- Whats new?
It brings slack style UI + less effort budget addition. Its built around spaces: one for your own money, and shared ones for the people you split costs with. We built it because no app did both well.

- Vibe coded ?
No , I learned swift UI from Paul Hudson courses, loved it and this is my first work.

- Data security and shared with AI?
No, we do have receipt scanning OCR but thats Apple's inbuilt model + our own parser.

- Ads?
No, never. We hate them haha

Any feedback is welcome, we also have a small feedback feature in the app itself, so your concerns are directly delivered to us and we will message you once its addressed.

The Okanize website was slightly vibe coded but it was mainly by using my own designs and code from my other websites to match the UI correctly. (Idk why I dont trust vibe coding anyways)

Love from Japan ❤️

App I built a pet health companion you just chat with, so you don't have to remember everything

After a long time building, the version that worked was the simplest one: a single chat that knows your pet.

Ask about food, symptoms, vaccines or training, and Luccy answers using your pet's breed, age and the records you've added. Vet documents get read and turned into reminders. Once a month, a licensed vet reviews a health summary for your pet.

It won't diagnose anything, and it'll tell you when it's time to see a vet.

Good or bad, I'd love to hear what you think: App Link

App [Dev] I built a privacy-first app that reminds you before free trials turn into paid subscriptions (no login, all local)

I kept forgetting to cancel free trials and getting hit with annual charges I didn't want. So I built a small iPhone app to fix that for myself.

What it does:

  • Add a trial in a few seconds: name, price, end date
  • Get a reminder before it bills, so you have time to cancel
  • One tap to open Apple's Subscriptions page to cancel

Privacy first: No sign-up, no login, no bank connection. Everything, including app icons, is processed locally on your iPhone. Nothing gets uploaded.

Price: $4.99

It's my first release of this one, so I'd really love feedback: what's missing, what's confusing, what would make you actually use it?

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6820833805

Thanks for taking a look!

App Title: I built a calorie tracker that understands meals instead of making you search for every food

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

You finish eating, open your calorie tracker, and suddenly you're spending more time searching for foods than actually logging your meal.

That's exactly what I wanted to change.

I'm the solo developer behind CalorieTalk, an iPhone app that lets you describe what you ate in normal language instead of searching for each food individually.

For example, you can say or type "a chicken wrap, some fries, and an iced coffee" and the app breaks it down into individual foods with estimated calories, protein, carbs, and fats.

You can review and adjust the results before saving, so you're not blindly trusting the estimates.

It supports voice and text input in English and Arabic.

I'm still improving the experience, but the goal is simple: make calorie tracking easier to stick with.

Try CalorieTalk on iPhone:

Would love to hear what you think!

Any fellow Yi Wood girls here? Stop blindly grinding, our actual talent is "leveraging"

As a Yi Wood day master girl, I used to go through a phase of blindly following the crowd and grinding myself to exhaustion with very little to show for it. After taking the time to reflect, I realized I was simply on the wrong track.

From the perspective of Five Elements imagery, Yi Wood is like vines and wildflowers—it is not about sheer brute force. If we try to go head-to-head and grind it out like more rigid traits, we are naturally going to feel constantly frustrated. Yi Wood's true nature actually lies in "growing by leveraging external forces."

Think about it, Yi Wood is exceptionally good at going with the flow:

  • Making the most of platforms and environments: Instead of forcing ourselves in areas we aren't suited for, Yi Wood girls tend to have strong adaptability and a keen sense for their environment. Picking the right track and platform can make things twice as easy with half the effort.
  • Knowing how to "leverage power": Whether it is resources from elders, team support, or mentors who can lift you up, Yi Wood finds it easier to catch and build upon these external forces rather than struggling alone.

Instead of wasting your core energy on endless internal friction and hustle culture, it is much better to channel that focus into expanding your network, discerning environments, and sharpening your judgment. Leaning into your flexible and resilient strengths by taking the "leveraging" route makes the journey much smoother and steadier.

What do you think? Are there any fellow Yi Wood sisters who relate? Let us chat about how you lean into your traits in everyday life!

I built Unclutr Photos to make choosing between similar photos easier

Hi everyone! I’m the developer of Unclutr Photos, an app that groups similar photos so you can compare them, decide what to keep, and clear out the extras. Photo comparison happens on your device, and you confirm deletions yourself.

The main addition in version 2.9 is Keep one: pick your preferred photo in a group, and the app selects the others for deletion while protecting favourites and Safe Photos. You can undo that selection if you change your mind.

You can also calibrate grouping by answering whether you’d group example photos together.

Unclutr Photos on the App Store

I’d love feedback on the review flow. When sorting similar shots, do you prefer choosing the one to keep or individually selecting the ones to delete?
