You’re not ugly, but you know that you’re to heavy, unhealthily so. Losing weight, properly taking it off so it stays off, takes time, dedication, consistency and a certain amount of sacrifice. If you really want it, then you will push yourself to get there. Good luck.

I had a really bad double chin and I got liposuction there and it increased my confidence so much. It’s kind of an investment but it’s so worth it if it is something that bothers you a lot. If you want to see what it looks like now you can check my post on this sub. I also lost 70 pounds which helped too and can really make a difference with the weight in your face. You have pretty eyes so highlighting that with eye makeup would make them pop more. Contouring your cheeks would also help. You’re definitely not ugly thought. It’s just all about using your best features to your advantage. You would probably look good in navy blue and emerald green too

At 5’3” you should weight around 130. You need to lose approximately one half of yourself.

u/BerrysNCreme 11h ago
As a man im 5"11 and im supposed to weigh like 185. Last time I weighed that i looked awful. You can weigh more than the ww2 bmi standard.

u/Doubler2324_ 11h ago
Yeah, but that weight should include muscle mass. The appropriate way to make a universal standard would be to use body fat percentage. Men should be under 25% at the most, and women should be under 30%.
2
u/BerrysNCreme 10h ago
That i can agree to, but just using that chart is ridiculous. I currently weigh 240lbs. But sit around 18% BF. Any smaller or lighter just doesn't fill my frame or have me look or feel right. Ans everybody is different in that regard to weight and how it's carried

i’m new to the gym, what is a ‘split’ i’d really appreciate your advice
2
u/Anusspelunking 12h ago
Well.. I workout Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Rest on Thursday, workout Friday , Saturday then off Sunday. Just gotta figure out which two days you need off. I do back, bicep, tricep, shoulder, traps on Monday and Thursday.. legs on Tuesday and Saturday. Cardio everyday but extra on Friday.

u/bigdawgvt 12h ago
thank you big dog, i appreciate your advice!!
2
u/Anusspelunking 12h ago
I’d advise using the stair stepper on level 1 and gradually increase by 1 every month or so. 15 mins to start and up that every so often by 5 mins. You’ll be fit asfuq ;)

u/Fisheater_Snatches 13h ago
Back in August 2023, I lost 20 pounds. Every day, I would write the calorie intake from every drink and everything I ate, as well as stuck to the food size written on the box. I also quit drinking soda during this time. I primarily drank juice. As far as exercise went, I focused on push ups and sit ups since I was broke and this was free.
Learn some discipline and stick to it. It won't be easy.
With that said, you seem to have a great attitude and I wish you the best of luck.
Edit: When I was documenting the calories, there were some days I only took in about 1600 calories. It did suck, but it worked. And, spelling/grammar mistakes.
2
u/C-B-III 13h ago
I lost 60 lbs in 2 months doing a combination of strict calorie counting to keep on a defecit leaning into protien to help curb hunger and meet the calorie goal and daily exercise. The diet was for losing weight, and the excercise was for keeping muscle and staving off appetite. But you have to want it pretty bad, otherwise it is way too easy to fall off. I wanted it bad. There was a girl encouraging me. Once id developed the habits, it was easier to maintain.

I don’t have much to say about the multitude of methods to stay in shape.
What I will say coming from a very unhealthy family is that there are A LOT of people who would be insignificantly better shape cutting out soda alone. The amount of family members I have who drink anywhere from 500-1000 calories daily from soda alone is astounding.

u/rolorelei 7h ago

1
u/AnimalHuge9790 12h ago
don't starve yourself to lose fat, you can eat whole foods until you are full and still lose fat
1
u/Tie1122 11h ago
It’s basic math. Take in less calories than you use per day. It’s okay to be hungry sometimes. Only eat single ingredient food. It’s okay to season your food. Drink water. You will be surprised how much weight is in just the water you are carrying.
Eat less. Screw the gym. Eat less, walk a little.
When you hit a target weight, then start a fitness routine.
1
u/AcezHigh561 11h ago
Honestly I was big too, I’m 5’7 I was 220lbs what I noticed was a big change for me was eating habits like snacks and soda once I cut back on them things started to change along with daily walks and when I was home I did little things like sit ups a few pushups jump rope ect nothing to crazy to get over worked. It’s been 3 months and I’m at 185. Determination and will power will be the biggest challenge but you got this just believe in yourself. We create our own journey make yours great.

My best advice for fitness (33m who has been working out 5-6 days a week since 17) - fitness/health is a marathon, not a sprint. When you first get into the gym, build SUSTAINABLE habits. A work out that you go balls to the wall and end up sore for a week and can’t really perform < 5 days of moderate, consistent work.
For your diet - once again, sustainable habits. Too many people go “cold turkey” or just completely warp everything and take on a massive calorie deficit that ends with binge eating. Figure out your macro needs (here is an example: https://www.calculator.net/macro-calculator.html). Note here: fill out your information for how you will be living (i.e - if you don’t workout now but will be doing 3 days a week, select the option that aligns with the 3 days a week, not what you’re doing right now). I’d consider leveraging AI and giving copious amount of personal details to really drill down on your maintenance calories per day. Once you find your maintenance calories per day, I like to divide that number by 7 and that’s what I reduce my maintenance calories by. (I.e - my maintenance calories are 2000. 2000/7= ~285. 2000-285= 1,715 calories per day). This generally equates to losing about 1-2lbs per week, which is not the immediate results you want, but is sustainable deficit that you will be able to stick to.
Commit to this for yourself because you have one life to live and you should treat your body with the respect it deserves. Go have fun though too, a single night out with your friends is not going to destroy your progress, but don’t make the single night the new habit either. I hope you jump into this and post back with future results. I always love to see people doing it for nothing other than themselves.
Remember: day-to-day you will look in mirror and think that nothing changed, but month-to-month you will look back and see if clearly. Year-to-year you won’t even recognize the original person.
Give em hell.

If you’re serious about losing weight, you have to count calories. I recommend taking 2 weeks and tracking calories for everything you eat and drink to the best of your ability. Tracking your weight over those two weeks. Then, start reducing your calorie intake. Physical activity is a huge boost as well. You should be getting 8-12000 steps a day minimum. Getting in the gym will help a lot more. It helps boost your metabolism and will also burn calories. Big compound movements, squats, leg press, deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts, pull downs, bench press.
Source: lost 70 pounds in 9 months
Be patient. You didn’t put the weight on in a couple months, it was years of abusing your body. It’s going to be years of care to get it healthy again.
Do it now while you are still relatively young and your skin should tighten.

u/SAINTnumberFIVE 13h ago
You’re not ugly at all but do your future self a favor. Sunscreen! Wear sunscreen. Not just on your face, but also on your neck and chest when exposed. You already have some sun damage but it’s not too late to prevent more.
European sunscreens are generally superior to American sunscreens if you can get them. If you’re in the US, you may not be able to. But as far as sunscreen, you can get in the US, Coppertone Sport in at least SPF 50 is good as far as protection, feel, and ease of application goes.

Figure out how many calories it takes for you to maintain your weight. Subtract 300 from that number and eat that many calories every day. Figure out your Leann body Wait using a calculator online, eat that many grams of protein per day. Work out with weights 3 to 4 times a week to 15 to 20 minutes of cardio after your workouts. You can do simply walking on a treadmill with an incline. Do not do low-carb do not do super low-calorie that will cause you to lose a bunch of weight at first, majority of it will be water weight and then you will plateau and stop losing weight.
Take your time

u/yipyears 12h ago
Additionally, go for a 15+ minute walk after a main meal (also works with short weight training, light cardio, etc.), as this will aid in dispersing all those nutrients & proteins to those specific muscle groups, as well as keeping you feeling fuller longer, afterward (and also aids in digestion). Learned this recently & it has been a game changer.

You have a pretty face. The gap tooth will appeal to a lot of people but not everyone. The belly is an issue I'm afraid. Men generally are okay with weight if it's spread out but less so if it's largely around the belly. Annoyingly even if you lose loads of weight you will need surgery for the apron that weight loss will leave you with. Basically you need to lose weight but do it slowly and stay biggish unless you can afford to fix the issues of extreme weight loss. Having said all that if you are body confident and filthy men will come floking regardless.

I think some volume for your hair would take it to the next level. Some bangs or something textured for your hair. Or grow it and have it be long and bouncy. Accentuating your best features are important. If you have a nice booty or if you can make cleavage happen...it's a reason why guys like big gorls.
I am proud to exist in a bigger body. I think we do have to work harder to be presentable or else it looks sloppy. So hair and lip gloss at a bare minimum. Throw away any stained clothes. If you have the $ get tailored clothes to create a nice silhouette. Definitely splurge on it if you have a wedding or something to agirls. Cover your crotch/pound of sugar (a large mons draws attention) and try to stay away from leggings and oversized shirts...you'll look like a triangle/flamingo.

u/Adventurous_Tailor14 11h ago
Try HIIT workouts. Stay away from sugar, unless it's fruit, but limit that. Just get into a caloric deficit and let your body get used to that. Obviously don't starve yourself. Eat healthy. You actually need more protein when losing weight than when gaining it, so stick to simple stuff like a protein (chicken, beef, fish) and a salad of your choice. Don't go for artificial dressings. Just add a little olive oil and lemon juice. Eggs are super healthy so stick to 2 of those in the morning with maybe some avocado toast (stay away from white bread). You should see results as long as you're not eating garbage and doing cardio (either running or biking). And keep up with the squats for a nice butt haha

u/DetroitUberDriver 10h ago

If you're ok with your teeth & confident in your attractiveness, leave them alone. If you want to be more "attractive," elevate your look by correcting this. To max your looks, you need to be devoted to self improvement & your HEALTH. You need about 120lbs off but See a doctor for this much weight loss.
A person who weighs 260 pounds at 5 feet 3 has a BMI of 46.05.
BMI Classification
• Category: Class III Obesity (Morbid Obesity) • Standard BMI Ranges: • Underweight: Below 18.5 • Healthy Weight: 18.5 to 24.9 • Overweight: 25.0 to 29.9 • Obesity (Class I): 30.0 to 34.9 • Obesity (Class II): 35.0 to 39.9 • Obesity (Class III / Severe or Morbid Obesity): 40.0 or greater

You are actually quite pretty. But the fact that you are morbidly obese will turn potential suitors off. Your health problems within 10 years will rob you of the ability to be a suitable mate or even a suitable date. No one wants to partner with a person who is a medical emergency in the making and about to happen. Look up a nutrition expert that will assist you in losing weight in a healthy manner. Then, after losing at least half of the 100 plus extra pounds you are still carrying, you will likely be approached by someone wishing to get to know you.

I see a lot of potential. Yes the elephant in the room is the weight so we do need to try to get a gym routine and possibly a diet routine. Maybe look into getting an Invisalign to correct that gap in the front teeth. I think you could completely have a glow up if you put the right people in your life you put the right stuff in your body and you started to love yourself.

I am a 50 year old male. About 3 years ago I was 300 pounds. I just had my first grandchild and I was not doing well health wise. So I cut out all soda and sugary snacks. I cut out carbs and tried to eat only chicken and turkey. I lost 60 pounds in about 7 months. I then had the attitude. Well if I eat this it’s fine. I am still down weight. Well I went back up to 280. So I started about 6 months ago wegovy. I am not down to 245. It’s not cheap. I paid like 149 for a 30 day supply of 4mg pills.
The doctor told me that there are really no side effects. That it helps the liver and since I am drinking more water it helps the kidneys as well. Now it’s about 249 for the 9 mg pills. I have to get those next. I am hoping it helps me get down to about 220. Try checking with insurance and see if they cover it. If not I used goodrx. You can download the app. Walgreens uses it.

People can say every pot has its lid, but that lid might be crap. To me that's unambitious. If you get in the best shape imaginable you might have your choice between 3 or 5 high quality lids.
Don't be one of those people who expects everything to fall in place. Those people end up losing in life. Go out there and make things happen. Life is harsh and rarely provides gifts. You have to provide them yourself.
