Focus How soon before Pivot?

I’ve been with the company for just under 3 years, hired in as an L5. After re-org about 2 years ago, I was moved to this current team. Things have been going moderately well up with manager/skip until recently where I received an email that made me pause. After doing some research, I’m 99% sure I’m in focus (won’t say 100% just because I haven’t bothered asking my manager directly). The task list seems reasonable, but at this point the manager/skip aren’t really engaging with me anymore. Kinda seems like they want me out of sight, out of mind at this point. Not really a timeline in the Focus email either apart from what’s expected in our next check in.

I’ve been in Focus for 2 weeks now I’d wager at least based on when I received the email, haven’t had our first 1:1 yet since the email… the first one is scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday where I guess I will show my progress? Or will that be the meeting I get the Pivot/PIP docs instead?

The timeline is short for a Focus to Pivot transition. But you may have been in Focus and not have noticed. Also heard from a few that they're rolling out a new Focus+Pivot process. Be prepared. Is there a room booked for this meeting - they'll do this in-person, around the second-half of the day, HRBP on call for the timeslot? Try and move it to a slot that is free on the manager's calendar to see if they accept the new slot immediately (or dilly-dally as they need to coordinate, etc.)

No HRBP on time slot currently as far as I can tell. But yeah, the timeline seems quicker than what I have read. Are they required to put you on focus for at least 30 days as far as you know?

Standard is 60 days. Minimum is 30 days

I’ve heard people say that your manager can adjust your Focus plan/schedule Willy nilly and make it as short as a few days… I hope what you say is true

HRBP and skip would have to sign off on that and I seriously doubt they would

Even if my skip were to not like me that much?

Unless you did something egregious (yoloed something that caused an LSE or some big obvious HR thing) they’d be opening themselves up to issues if they did

you won't know this. they won't be in cc on the meeting.... if you know who the HRBP is, check if their calendar is blocked for the same slot (weak proof, but something is better than nothing).

As I type this, I am thinking - even if it turns out to be a regular meeting, what a terrible way to exist, in this culture of mistrust. What have they done!
