[Android] Looking for testers: a car logbook app that records your drives automatically, no account needed

I've built Just Drive, an app that keeps a car logbook for you while you drive. It's made for Australia's 12-week tax logbook, but the tracking works anywhere, so you don't need to be Australian to test it.

How it works: put your phone in your pocket and drive. Each trip is recorded on its own: start and end, distance, times and addresses. Once a day you swipe through your trips, right for work and left for private. That's it.

What I need: Google Play requires new apps to have 12 testers stay in a closed test for 14 days in a row before release. If you can:

  • install it from the Play test link I'll email you
  • leave it installed for 14 days and drive as you normally would
  • tell me if a trip was missed, split wrongly, or anything confused you

...that would be a huge help.

Privacy: the app has no account and no analytics. Your trips stay on your phone and in your own backup. Nothing is sent to me.

Cost: free for testers.

Want to help? Leave the email address you use on Google Play here, and I'll send you the test link when it opens: https://forms.gle/9p6mm6yf4ZdyNA3R9

Feedback on the landing page is welcome too: https://cediim8.github.io/just-drive-site/

iPhone version is coming. I'll invite iPhone testers through TestFlight once that's set up. Happy to answer any questions here.

Thanks, really appreciate it! Site visits are exactly what it's built for: lots of short trips that are a pain to write down. I'll email you the test link once it opens, and post an update here too.

Your Just Drive invitation should distinguish the app's “no account” setup from Google's testing step: testers still need to open the web opt-in link with the Google account used on their phone, then install from Play. For a daily check, ask whether a short stop incorrectly split one drive into two.

I make ThreadFox. For $20 per app, once, Test Rounds places Just Drive with 13 other Android developers who all test each other's apps for 14 days; we send daily reminders and check-ins and replace anyone who stops. You test their apps too, about ten minutes a day, and testing starts once the round fills: https://threadfox.vip/p/dsy3m/rounds

Thank you for your feedback, you're right about how Play testing works.
