Delayed reaction to sting; localized hives

My six-day-old sting suddenly woke me up last night due to extreme itching. There are hives all around it now. The whole thing is probably like 4-5 inches in diameter. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

Yep. You should be concerned.

to do list: take a Benadryl and call your doctor. They might give you something besides Benadryl but it will likely be that and a topical.

But don't just sit there and wait for it to get better, because it might get worse

ya it can itch like crazy for a few days up to a week, take allergy meds, and continue to watch the swelling. if it keeps swelling and gets tender(painful) at all go see a doctor. stings can cause infections even a few days later
