Ubuntu password change

Trying to change my Ubuntu password a im getting error message.

Passwd: Authentication token manipulation error
Passwd: password unchanged

How can i fix this?

you may want to show your entire shell session, input and output.

thats usually a sign the account got locked or the shadow file is read only, check if you can run sudo passwd youruser from a root shell

Might be a drive space issue too.

Do a "du -hl"
