My testimony: How a prayer and a broken ankle saved me from 6 years of addiction

Hello everyone,
I wanted to share my story today to testify to what God has done in my life, and hopefully bring some hope to anyone going through a dark place.
Ever since COVID, I had completely let myself go. I fell into alcoholism, non-stop partying, and daily cannabis use. Over time, I managed to cut back on most things, but the weed stayed.
This year, I decided to live on my own, thinking that isolation would help me get my life back together. In reality, it had the exact opposite effect: I smoked more than ever and sank even deeper by starting hard drugs (3-MMC, cocaine, etc.). It was a downward spiral.
One day, at my lowest point, I prayed deeply. I asked God to pull me out of this situation and promised myself I would stop using hard drugs. But temptation got the best of me: after much hesitation, I decided to head out to a party to use again.
As I started riding my bike to go there, I fell and fractured my ankle.
At the time, it was a shock, but what followed was a true miracle. I had to undergo surgery under general anesthesia. And when I woke up... I was a completely different person.
Overnight, the urge to smoke completely vanished, even though I had been addicted for 6 years. I haven't touched any drugs since. Today, I feel liberated and I have never felt this good in my entire life. Deep down, I know that God used that event to stop me in my tracks before I completely destroyed myself.
Thank you for reading, and if you are going through a similar struggle, never lose hope.

Amen

Praise God! Sometimes his way is not at all what we expect but it is so much sweeter due to the power of the redemption he provides us! Keep fighting for your faith in Jesus, get into his word, and never look back. He is a miracle worker, healer, and the king of all creation. Angels are rejoicing for you and so is the father that you have come into his arms. Hold on tightly to him. God bless!
