Entry 1 :
I am not that scared of reading or listening to horror stories at night. I have spent hours listening while working or maybe if it's interesting, I just sat down and listened for hours after midnight. Recently though, I have been going through the Magnus Archives podcast. This time I don't know why it feels different. I know they are stories but I feel a bit of fear. The strangest feeling that I have right now is that, I feel like the noises from the road are somehow originating from my room. I dont know how I could explain it in any other way. I should explain my living situation a bit, my room is on the second floor overlooking the small street. There is a small laundry right under my room. The counter of the laundry is open sort of like a food cart, you can just come over and leave your stuff to be pressed or cleaned. From my balcony I get a clear view of whoever comes up to the laundry.
There's always chattering going on, and I am very used to it. In many ways the chattering and the noises feel comfortable to me. The street doesn't get much traffic at all and it's almost dead silent after midnight. However lately the noises that were supposed to be coming from the street feels like they are originating inside my room. The chatters feel like they are happening right beside me.
I was working on my desk this afternoon when I heard the voice of this woman. I could swear I heard the lady call out to someone and it felt like she was half a feet away from me. I looked over and there was no one. I ran over to the balcony and I saw no lady. Just the bunch of kids who gather regularly to chat with the guy who runs the laundry.
In the evening I went to lie down for a bit, and I heard the horns of a car as though it was coming right at me from the other side of the room. I jumped up and ofcourse there was nothing at the foot of my bed.
If those weren't weird enough, there's this weird shadow that has been lurking right at the edge of my sight. I can see it creeping out of the corner of the bedside table and sometimes from the corner of my bed and as soon as I look at it, it's gone. I was reading a book in bed this morning when I noticed a shadow creeping up from behind my bed and growing along the curtain just a few inches away from my face . As soon as I put the book down to look at it, there was nothing.
I don't feel like I am going mad and I always been able to trust my senses. But, there's just no way I could logically explain these occurrences.
