Schizo team breakdown:
Rillaboom - The monkey summons his beautiful lawn (grassy terrain) to provide sustenance to his friendarinos (teammates), and hamper dastardly earthquakes from making me very sad. He uses his Walgreens pesticide (terrain extender) to get more grass per grass. His large wooden hammer bludgeons foes for good damage even against resists. He has also learned the secret techniques (grassy glide) from the Tibetan monks, allowing him help stop threats like SDSS Garchomp, Barraskewda and Swampert in rain, Hammurott, and Wokerpon. With knock off he can remove the enemy’s tricky tools, and he can u-turn to wear down foes. The entire team is mostly bulk so I have invested in his hp helping get more terrain per game.
Volcarona - Grassy seed physdef Volc is a set I am very fond of, allowing this obese arthropod to even survive stab physica rock moves sometimes. Flame body can make opposing phys attackers very sad but it’s mostly just a bonus. Quiver dance is self explanatory I hope. Giga drain allows him to recover large amounts of flesh, and is strengthened by the grassy terrain. Bug buzz is secondary stab. Fiery dance is the main attack/rng button. It also beats the steel types that resist like everything except Tusk.
Aggron - The wall etc etc. Aggron is a massive matchup fish. It walls some troublesome pokemon. It can pretty consistently wall Kingambit, Tyranitar, Dragonite, Scizor, Mawile, Rillaboom, Rockypon, Meowsc, etc. With terrain you can add Exca, Chomp, Lando, and so on to that list, and even without terrain it still can with good positioning. Waterpon is also walled unless it decides to get lucky with its casino stick. Also a very good knock off absorber. Can set rocks pretty consistently. But he also has some very bad matchups, namely Yzard, Heatran, Volc, Moltres, Ceruledge, and also Gholdengo. Luckily AV Ttar beats most of those. SD drain punch Iron Hands is also a problem matchup. You also want to mega as soon as possible, as switching in base Aggron is hard. Rocks are rocks. Curse over ID lets him also use heavy slam more effectively and kinda fucks trick room. Body press is the important move, and heavy slam is stab. Ive also experimented with dragon tail over rocks. Maggron is a gimmicky chud but he’s MY gimmicky chud.
Tyranitar - With the help of his fashionable vest, big man can tank the special hits Aggron can’t. Destroying Charizard, pursuit trapping Ghold, you know the drill. And physical mons who would beat him are usually beaten by Aggron, unless they are an especially high power fighting type, in which case Mola and Volc can help. He very much appreciates the grassy terrain. Ttar knock off is extremely spammable, and ston edge can do huge damage. Fire punch is specifically slotted in to catch Ferrothorn off guard, who is otherwise problematic. Standard bulky attack evs.
Alomomola - The keystone here. Mola’s wishpass is the only reason this AggTar wall core works. It wears a funny hat, and can burn with scald. Mola can help wall a few physical attackers that can beat Aggron, and can punish pivoting. Toxic can combine with the rocks, helmet, and sand to rack up passive damage. He can flip his turn and make a wish upon a star.
Great Tusk - you will NEVER guess what Great Tusk does. He sets the sneaky pebbles and spins rapidly. Ice spinner does have some antisynergy but it’s important for Lando and Gliscor and Garchomp. Headlong rush gets around the EQ nerf for high ground damage. Lefties are kinda a filler item.
This team definitely has some good matchups, but there are some very bad ones. Waterpon is extremely annoying if it sets up. Zapdos and Moltres can cause problems if Tyranitar is incapacitated. It gets absolutely fucked by burn. It’s just barely viable I think but there a big holes.
Mandatory replays.
