A few years ago I played the original arcade version at a game center and from what I recall it used two separate joysticks. It was fun, but I thought crazy to actually try to control. Is that an option with this one?

Must've been PC only or maybe there was something you can do to use two n64 controllers at once?

Memory unlocked. I remember there was a cheat code or something that let you use two 64 controllers

Sorry, to clarify, this was an actual arcade cabinet and not the N64 game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Racer_Arcade

I looked it up just now and it's not two joysticks, it's two throttles. I saw in this video OP has one throttle so now I'm wondering if you could somehow play it with two lol

This tool made by JaffaQuake, has that exact same input. You can use two joysticks (or any input really) and play it like the arcade machine.

Yes, there are mods out there specifically for this on PC. Not native with the game though.
