I'm Lucha Underground's Taya Valkyrie - Ask Me Anything!

Taya will be joining us at 7ET! Get your questions in early for a more likely response! (This is a phone interview; all typos are the fault of /u/inmynothing, but go easy on me, I stepped on two nails and had to get a tetanus shot to fight the terrible infection I have).

About Taya

Taya Valkyrie has only relatively recently became involved in the world of professional wrestling, training with Lance Storm in 2010, participating in his series World of Hurt, and then going on to wrestle in several indie companies in Canada.

After signing a developmental deal with the WWE in 2011, she never officially competed with the company, and found herself in Mexico shortly later, and eventually debuting with AAA in November of 2012. After a few solid years with the company, she really started to rise in 2014, when she won an elimination match to become the number one contender for the Reina de Reinas Championship, and won the title a month later at Triplemania XXX, against Faby Apache.

In 2016, she debuted in Lucha Underground as the valet of Johnny Mundo, making her in-ring debut a few weeks later in a defeat to Cage. She had her revenge however, eliminating Cage in the second edition of Aztec Warfare, before being eliminated herself by Fenix. Who knows what's in store for her this next season, and tomorrow you'll have a chance to ask, only a hour before the season starts!

What's the craziest/coolest thing you've had the opportunity do thanks to wrestling?

I think going to Mexico and seeing parts of Mexico that as a tourist you'd never get to see. And I think seeing how powerful Lucha Libre is there is awe-inspiring. It transcends poverty, social status, and it just gives hope to people.
