Talent and Leadership: You are absolutely right that scaling requires hiring brilliant people. The engineers doing the heavy lifting are phenomenal. The critique is rarely about the talent of the workforce; it's about executive leadership constantly over-promising on the deliverables that those talented people are then pressured to somehow invent on impossible deadlines.
Past Success vs. Current Criticism: Scaling EV manufacturing and reusable rockets is a monumental achievement. But acknowledging past successes doesn't mean you have to give leadership a free pass on current missed targets, nor does it mean anyone who criticizes them simply "doesn't understand business."
Overall the Elon Musk of today with his promises of AI Data centers and Lunar bases is more like his promises of Hyperloop and flying roadsters. . . None of them are going to happen. . . they are just fraud.
