No one has these anymore. Everyone smokes black market darts now, which come in normal branded packets

Do a lot of people grow their own? I grew a couple a few years ago. Easiest plant I’ve ever grown. Also the best tasting tobacco I’ve ever had. Still got some that’s been aging in a mason jar since it dried. Still has moisture and smells like brownies.

No, it’s mostly black market imports these days. It’s insanely profitable for cartels to import, even with the high risks and costs, because they can get a massive mark up and still be less than half the price of legal tobacco.

Tobacco is illegal to grow here (without a very tightly regulated type of license anyway) and importing seeds of any kind is also illegal (and very high chance of being found by bio security). So unless people already have access to seeds, it’s not really worth the risk and effort for the average punter.

Chop chop (from small scale illegal grow operations) has always been a thing and is still around, but it’s never been a huge part of the market.

Doesn't really matter since 80% of their tobacco is from the black market.

These regulations are a bit stupid, here in Europe they put the generic packaging in place and people simply bought cigarette cases to their liking. It ended up making the containers more fashionable.
