I think there was an expedition, don't remember whether it was too the North or the South pole, where they took a player piano along.

Chat gpt says

The 1908–1909 North Pole expedition led by Admiral Robert E. Peary took a player piano aboard the ship Roosevelt. The specially built instrument provided entertainment for the crew during the long, dark Arctic winter. October 2013 Volume 27, Number 5

Interestingly, other polar expeditions also carried player pianos, including Sir John Franklin’s ill-fated 1845 Arctic expedition aboard HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. a Man Ahead of His Time
