Hi folks , I'm not getting any data showing my cats whereabouts, she is on move as she goes out of range. I just get the 1 time stamp a day at various times.

I had the SmartThings app set up on my pixel 8 via GitHib and that worked perfect fine, I've just recently got a Samsung S26 and this issue has started.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help Remote not responding (phone touch screen)

Starting yesterday, following a phone update (Galaxy S23) the remote control for the TV in the app has stopped responding. It opens correctly, sees my TV correctly but I can't click on anything like if the phone touch screen was suddenly disabled. I tried reinstalling the app, readding the TV, etc. to no avail. Doubt it is related to yesterday's server issues on Samsung's end since it's back online now and I still have the issue.

Help Samsung trackers not working in smartthings app

Hi all,

Since replacing my phone from a samsung s22 to a nothing 4a pro all of my tracking devices are unusable. The error code states they work with galaxy devices with android 9 and above, but since smartthings is available on iOS I'm little confused why this error comes up. Especially since my phone runs android 16. Is anyone able to help? TIA

Help What doorbell has best integration with Smartthings?

As I am currently seeking a doorbell solution, and having previously encountered limitations with devices advertised as "works with SmartThings" that did not offer full functionality, I am keen to avoid a similar situation. Therefore, I would appreciate guidance on which brand or specific doorbell model would provide the most comprehensive functionality within the SmartThings ecosystem.

Help Aeotec Hub vs SmartThings Station vs my sanity

I am new to home automation, but have used Samsung's Modes and Routines extensively for at least a year. Because of this, my goal is to automate things like lights and motion sensors through SmartThings, ideally establishing an ecosystem that can be expanded upon indefinitely in the future.

The options for a smart hub at this point seem to be at best poorly managed, and at worst, intentionally unfair to buyers. One option that seems at least somewhat available in my country is the Aeotec Hub, which will support many older-gen SmartThings devices like ones that use Z-wave and Matter-over-WiFi. However, Samsung appears to be moving in the direction of Matter and Thread protocols, which the Aeotec Hub does not support.

Furthermore, the Samsung SmartThings Station, while including support for Matter and Thread devices, seems to have been scrubbed from the market in my country. It doesn't appear as an item on Samsung's website, and isn't even available used through other retail stores. I wouldn't even know how to get my hands on one of them unless I happened to know someone wanting to give theirs away, or found a way to import one from another country just to hope it will actually work.

The only other option seems to be what Samsung is pushing now: smart hubs embedded within larger appliances. On the SmartThings app, there is a list of items that can function as hubs, and among them is "Samsung Smart TVs released in 2022 or later". I actually purchased a 2026 TV for this reason, but, as it turns out, the information from the app was actually false, and it is only a select subset of smart TVs, refrigerators, or smart monitors that can host hubs. This forces buyers to spend at an order of magnitude more just to have a hub, and to replace any existing appliances with the new ones that have the hub integrated.

While supposedly designing a smart home ecosystem that is centered around being accessible, this decision on the company's part actually keeps most buyers from being able to have any smart home ecosystem, else they pay at minimum 300 USD for the smallest smart monitor with a hub (least expensive product with an integrated hub), whereas the standalone SmartThings Station would have been about one fifth that price at most. I have been a long term customer of Samsung devices, but this decision seems to be lost somewhere between mismanagement and greed.

So, looking at my options:

- Cave and buy an Aeotec Hub, knowing it won't be compatible with future devices

- Attempt to return or sell my TV and buy one twice as expensive

- Attempt to find a used SmartThings station from another country

- Wait until Samsung releases a new kind of separate hub? If that even happens?

All four ways, it seems like I lose. I would not want to abandon SmartThings entirely, but it seems as if my hand is being forced. Any tips?

Help Samsung SmartThings update broke Auto Connectivity between my Bespoke range and microwave hood. Anyone else?

Is anyone else having issues with Samsung SmartThings after the latest update?

I have a Samsung Bespoke electric range and a compatible Samsung over-the-range microwave. Until recently, they worked perfectly together using Auto Connectivity, where turning on the stove would automatically activate the microwave’s ventilation fan.

Now, after the recent SmartThings update, the feature has stopped working.

This setup worked perfectly fine before the update. I haven’t changed either appliance or its configuration.

Help Help needed - IKEA Lights in SmartThings

I have an IKEA Matter hub (Dirigera) and I managed to set it up properly on the IKEA app and on SmartThings.
I had already managed to add the matter bridge and all lights into the application, but due to having had to work on the electrical wiring of the house I had to turn the power off, and then re-pair all my lights. Unfortunately, now I cannot add anything IKEA back on SmartThings as it fails with a 39-519 error code. So far I've tried:

  1. Direct matter pairing via adding the thread network key

  2. Pairing them from the IKEA home smart app using the "Control in other systems" function (I already added the Dirigera with this, no problems with that)

  3. Full reset of the Samsung TV that I use as a smartthings hub

  4. Full reset of the thread network on the IKEA side

  5. Network reset

I'm out of ideas unfortunately. Someone had this problem and managed to solve it?

Help Smart Outlet/Plug without on/off button

Is there such a thing as a smart plug or outlet that doesn't have a way to turn on/off or rest the plug/outlet with a button?

What I am essentially trying to do is use a smart plug/outlet to schedule TV/Xbox time. If there is a button on the side, I'm sure my kids will figure out how to physically push the button.

Help Zwave pairing issue with GE Enbrighten Switch and Smartthings

Edit got it working with the assistance of the community. The fix was to add it using "scan for nearby device" and then add it without extra security. Thank you

I could use some assistance trying to pair a new GE Enbrighten Switch for my Kitchen lights to my Smartthings hub. I have used these switches in the past with no issue and currently have half a dozen of them throughout the main level of my house. I recently had an electrician doing some other work in my house and had him also replaced an older Kasa switch with a new GE switch, but now the new GE switch refuses to pair with my Smartthings hub.

It is a three way circuit with an addon switch in the other switch location. Everything works when manually operating either switch, the issue is only with getting the primary switch to connect to the hub. After doing a manual reset on the switch and excluding it from the zwave network, I can get to the step of scanning the QR code or entering the pin. From there the app thinks for a very long time then says Something went wrong and provides error code 34-501.

I looked up the error code and it says its usually from the hub being too far away, so I relocated the hub to be within arms reach of the switch and tried the process again but got the same result. I also tried getting a new Enbrighten switch thinking maybe I just got a dud, however even the second switch is doing the exact same thing. In my most recent attempt, instead of scanning the QR code I attempted to enter the PIN instead. While I ended up with the same result and the same error code, I noticed that the DSK number displayed on the App does NOT match the DSK number printed on the switch. The DSK number on the switch is the 5 digit pin, and then 7 sets of 5 digits however the DSK number displayed in Smartthings was the spot for the 5 digit pin, and then 6 sets of 5 digits. Could this be the cause of my connection issue, and if so how would I be able to fix it?

My hub is a V3 running firmware version 000.062.00007 and the DSK number shown for the hub is pin plus 7 sets of 5 digits. The app version is 1.0.49-13

If there is any further information I can provide I am happy to do so. Thank you so much for your time and any assistance anyone can provide.

Help Does SmartThings Home Monitor work locally if the internet drops?

Hi everyone!

I have a specific question about Home Monitor’s local behavior when there’s no internet connection, assuming you have a physical hub like an Aeotec v3/v4.

To clarify, I fully understand that push notifications won't reach my phone to alert me about an intruder or a leak while the internet is down. My question is strictly about the execution of responses configured within Home Monitor.

Example:

If I have a Thread motion sensor and Thread light bulbs paired, and I configure Home Monitor to turn those bulbs red upon detecting an intruder—will Home Monitor process that command and turn the lights red 100% locally, even if the internet is down?

Help App not working. Brand new account. Load circle just spins forever.

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

Ok so I've been fighting with this literally all day and I'm kind of losing my mind. Figured I'd post here in case someone's seen this before. Just bought the Q990F soundbar and trying to set it up but the app flat out doesn’t work.

Basically the app logs me in fine, then the home screen just spins forever. Never loads, never asks me to add a location or anything, just spins.

Went to my.smartthings.com to see what was up and it redirects me to a blank blue page that just says “No Locations". So then I tried adding one through the advanced web app and got this:

“Error adding location. 401”

I've tried basically everything I can think of at this point:

- 3 different iPhones, fresh installs on each
- my Windows laptop in a browser
- home wifi
- cellular data on my phone with wifi off
- hot spot from another phone

even deleted my whole Samsung account and made a brand new one. Same exact error every single time, including on the brand new account. Like it fails from the literal first login, no locations, 401 when I try to add one.

At this point I really don't think it's my phone or my wifi or anything on my end, feels like something's broken with how Samsung is provisioning accounts or routing them or whatever. But I can't find anyone else posting about this exact issue which is driving me a little crazy.

Anyone run into this? Did it fix itself, did you have to do something specific, or is this just a "wait for support" situation? Trying to figure out if I should keep pushing or just sit tight.

Help Smartthings won’t find TV

Tried almost everything, it worked for years.
But lately I tried to re-add my tv (UE55NU7100) and it doesn’t find it in any way, they are on the same network and it worked fine for years and I haven’t changed anything (I had to remove and re-add it because it became constantly offline).

Airplay still works fine but smartthings doesn’t see the tv.
Does anyone have any idea? Both smartthings and the tv are updated to their latest firmware.

Help Reset SmartThings Hub Pre-2018

Hello, I have a SmartThings Hub made before 2018. I'm trying to factory reset it because it's configured to a different Wi-Fi and thus not recognizable through the app, but it needs to be reset through the app according to Samsung support. Is there any way to factory reset it without the app?

Help Hub Group vs two separate hubs in the same location?

I have a Smartthings V2 hub, and picked up an Aeotec Hub 2 v4 to add Thread capabilities. I was planning to keep both hubs so I can retain z-wave on the old hub. Now that I am setting up the Aeotec, I am realizing there's fine print that the v2 hub doesn't actually support hub groups. So is it impossible for me to have one cohesive network with both z-wave and thread devices? Or will the two hubs simply existing on the same IP subnet and location in the app mean that they will work together seamlessly, and all I'm missing from not having a Hub Group is the automatic fallback/redundancy?

Help Light bulbs compatible with SmartThings

I don't have any smart appliances in my home. I am looking for RGB dimmable light bulbs that I can use with SmartThings. I don't understand the hubs/wi-fi difference. Please explain to me why I would need a hub. I would also prefer to use SmartThings only, no other app.

I understand this has been asked many times before, but I am very limited when it comes to tech, please explain it to me like I'm 5 years old.

Help V3 Hub. Any suggestions on how to get the changing Wi-Fi network process to work?

I have a hub V3. I'm trying to follow the instructions for changing my Wi-Fi network. I got a new router and set up my networks the same as they had been on my previous one. My SmartThings hub connected to the old network just fine but my new router comes with a setup that created an iot network. I decided to switch the hub over to that.

I go to the section in the app it's supposed to let me change my Wi-Fi setup. I hold down the reset button on the back of the hub until the light flashes yellow. After that it shows me a list of networks but it will not show any of my networks, INCLUDING the one it was JUST successfully connecting to moments ago. It only shows networks for my neighbors. Why is it doing this?

I've hit the refresh button so many times. The phone I'm using can see all of my networks. Why will the SmartThings app only show my neighbor's networks and not my own?

The Wi-Fi is coming from an access point that is literally in the same room as the hub, about 20 ft away with nothing in between them physically.

Help SmartThings app - Continue button on tags page

Replaced the battery in a tag. Noticed that the app is no longer working correctly. Selecting the tag from the options, I get a warning about using tags to track others, and there is a continue button at the bottom of the warning. Bad news is, the button can't be clicked to continue. I am stuck on that page. Tried pressing all over the button and using a stylus, but no joy. Anyone seeing this?

(On the Go, select any tag, get warning screen, suffer)

Help Any updates on the issue of adding Matter devices on iOS?

Have there been updates on this issue? I'm trying to add some Matter devices to my SmartThings v3 Hub, and much like the linked post, everything proceeds normally until we get to the point where it wants to add it to iCloud, at which point it fails. I'm running iOS 26.5, but I see this issue has been present all they way back to iOS 18. Unfortunately I do not have an Android tablet available to load the devices in, which seems to be the most popular fix. Thanks for any advice.

UPDATE: Being an impatient person by nature, I purchased an Android tablet, and added the device in about a minute, no issues.

Help View TV on phone stopped working

Both tv and phone Samsung, I've always used the "View TV on phone" feature, but lately (maybe after the app update on August 10?) it's not working anymore. I only get a black screen, no matter what's on the TV, that closes after a few seconds.

I already tried cleaning cache and resetting the network, no changes.

Anyone else or any solution available?
