Community Message New Post Flair | Parity Port Request - Mod Exists on PS5 l For when a mod is on PlayStation but not Xbox

Hi all,

Some of you have probably noticed that since Sony relaxed their rules on not allowing external assets on PlayStation we’ve had a fair few mods which have been ported to PS4/5 but not for Xbox. This is particularly irritating, because on occasion this includes patches for mods which exist on PS but not for us, making it more difficult to pair mod combinations we might like to.

There is no easy fix for this. People reaching out to mod authors for porting to PS are unlikely to think of us any more than we never thought of them (albeit that it wasn’t possible to port most mods to PS for many many years). But as several of you have called this out recently, here’s what we’re going to do

**Parity Port Request - Mod Exists on PS5** is a new flair attempting to address this. It’s blue with Nexus logo

If there is mod or patch which you stumble across which exists on Bethesda. Net for PlayStation, but not for Xbox, then please use this flair. 

With the following caveats. And yes, as always, there are a lot of requirements to satisfy Bethesda. Sorry. Please read carefully :

  • It is not possible to port directly to Xbox from an existing PlayStation mod on Bethesda.net. This because we get at those files once uploaded. So always seek and provide the Nexus mods link To mod you want porting.
  • On the Nexus under **Permissions and Credits** look for **Upload Permission**.
  • If the **Upload Permission** is Open - That’s going to be fine. The Porter will need to provide credits to the Author, and a link back to the mod, but they know to do this. They have to on every mod they port.
  • If the **Upload Permission** is **Closed** you will need to go to the **Posts** tab and ask the Author for permission there to get the mod ported.
  • If they say No. That means no. Would be odd given they allowed it on PS5, but there‘s nothing we can do. Their word is final.
  • If you choose to get permission from the Author in a DM? Bethesda will not accept that. They haven’t for several years. The mod will get taken down. Your request needs to be publicly viewable in the Posts tab. 
  • Seeing another poster get a Yes for PlayStation sadly does not mean a Yes for Xbox. You will need to ask if they are happy for an Xbox port to be made. 
  • If another poster has requested ports for ‘consoles’ in more ambiguous and less PS specific terms that *would* count. That’s fair game.

Sorry to make you all jump through hoops here, but Bethesda really do get uppity if we don’t follow their rules on this. 

The hope here is to flag these up for porters visiting this sub, and hopefully they will indulge us. 

**Disclaimer:** I cannot guarantee that any port requested will definitely be ported. I’m not the Porter here. I’m just a moderator. But it’s best opportunity we have to restore parity when this occurs. I cross my fingers as much as you do.

If you are new to our subreddit, welcome! This is a simple guide with some helpful links for new modders and those looking for some guidance.

Info every modder should be aware of:

LLO Guides

On PC you can use tools like LOOT to help organize your load order automatically (to help reduce mod conflict), on console unfortunately we have to go about this process manually with something called logical load order guides. You should always start here when modding your game. Pick one (you can use the others for reference points if needed):

  • Quick and reliable LLO guide - by former moderator u/Brxsie, incredibly helpful starting point. Some mods may not fit exactly in this format but that's true of every load order, read your mod descriptions carefully.
  • Halls of Ysgramor Logical Load Order Template - by u/will-oh-the-wisp, this a great option for users looking to use a spreadsheet without all the usual hassle as it auto-populates the title and memory size of a mods when their URL is pasted in from Bethesda.net (URL functionality currently broken in the smart guide). This template also includes a slew of other smart features to make the whole process quick and seamless. UPDATE: As of the Dec 2023 update the smart functionality of URL linking appears to be broken so for now use the basic version.
  • LLO Tool - by Verpalorian - One of the best developed resource tools for modding on console. Provides spreadsheet with multiple LLO template examples. While some of the list of mods referenced are slightly older it is incredibly helpful for troubleshooting load order guides and getting a general sense of how to arrange your mods.
  • LLO Deep Dive - by former moderators u/shadowwalker935 and u/unseriously_serious, this is a more detailed write up on the topic that delves into the origins and importance and helps to break down each category. The list at the bottom is just a breakdown of different categories, look to the variants LLO guides linked for the actual order of these categories you want to follow.
  • LLO2 - by AdamVB, LLO2 is a different variation of the LLO above. Both are solid choices. This version rearranges several specific categories (in particular those relating to area edits). This may cause conflicts with some mods. Many swear by it, but if you are choosing between these two I'd recommend picking whichever you personally find to be most intuitive.
  • TK Console Mod Manager - by u/Tommas666. An Android app designed to aid constructing your load order.

Writing Down Your LO

While not entirely necessary it can be incredibly beneficial to write these down either in a word or google document (google document templates are available in the LLO Deep Dive and LLO Tool links above that you can easily grab). If you intend to ask for help arranging mods on this sub we ask that you provide a full list , so from the POV of the community it’s a good idea, and also means that you can keep tabs on which mods you have trued in the past. In the google doc templates you can also list mod links for easy addition/installation of your LO via the website (add them to your library on bethesdas website for them to show up on your console).

  • Bethesda - Easier for search and mod addition.

Ghost Space

All Xbox Skyrim users have 5 GB of space to install mods into. The in-game load order screen displays how much space you have remaining at the top right of the screen. ‘Ghost Space’ is the term used to describe a situation where the game tells you that you have space remaining to install more mods, but when you try to do that the game informs you that you do not have enough memory free to do that. This is actually a fault with the game itself, which may not be deleting mods properly when you have previously directed it to.

You can find a post going into this in further detail here by u/ILoveSkyrim109, but you can also find tips on the safe practices for disabling and uninstalling mods below.

Proper installation and removal practices

Ghost space can be a result of improperly removed mods, you can also corrupt your save and cause a host of other issues by adding, removing or moving mods on an ongoing save if they aren't simple texture/mesh replacers. Learning about safe practices will save you a massive headache in the longterm.

Always remove patches for mods before the mod they depend on. This is because if you delete the dependant mod/s first then their patches will disappear from your load order. They will actually still be installed in your game, and count towards your total space used, but they will no longer be visible in your load order itself.

Sometimes a full clean slate (including deleting the game) or a partial clean slate (just clearing reserve space and removing your mods from bethesdas site) is necessary to fix an especially broken game. I've gotten into the practice of doing a partial clean slate after every load order as a rule of thumb.

Among other issues introduced by the Dec 2023 update (which we cover later in this guide) we also now have a new issue related to mod space: The new behaviour requires mods to be twice their size to download, meaning you'll now want to install mods in order from largest to smallest for more info and another solution to this (top of post).

Hard Resetting Your Console

You'll need to do this a lot, after disabling your mods, after deleting your mods, after installing your load order or a group of new mods. Many LO support posts are simply users who haven't hard reset after installing their mods. Don't be that person.

Stress Testing your LO

If you want to make sure your load order is crash free it never hurts to try some stress testing methods beforehand rather than finding out your build is problematic halfway through and not having an easy fix.

  • Can’t download a mod despite having enough space

  • I can’t see enough mods in the Creation Menu, despite having a mod that allows me to see more.

Mod Discussion I want a new house for my Dark Elf to live in

I have several characters, six to be exact, and each one already has their own house. I'm looking for a modded house that can accommodate two children, preferably with a dark aesthetic, somewhere snowy, or with a vampire theme.

I don't want the in game vampire house, Bloodchill Manor, because when the children go outside, they just stand at the cave entrance staring at each other instead of playing.

I tried Severin Manor, but the Bless Home spell didn't work there.

I have The Kids Are Alright mod, so I can adopt two children. That's why I don't want a house with four or six child beds. I want one with exactly two child beds.

Port Request Port Request: Patch for Riften Extension - Southwoods District / RS Children

Hi all, the mod Riften Extension - Southwoods District comes with many npcs, including some kid npcs, which of course breaks their look when used in combination with RS children, I noticed this patch wasn’t ported yet, so would be a helpful fix to port

(Side note, I assume this will also work with the Riften Exterior Overhaul AIO version which includes Southwoods District and Riften Docks Overhaul? I’m unfamiliar with the technicality of mod dependencies.)

LO Help - Xbox Series X Northern Cathedral Regional Grass AIO HELP

So I thought I’d try out the Northern Cathedral Regional Grass AIO mod but I feel like I’m going crazy here.
I have all the required mods in the recommended order but I cant enable the plugin.

I’ve even disabled every mod aside from the 4 required mods plus USSEP.

I’ve tried various versions of each mod as there are two near-identical uploads of 3D Pine Grass, I’ve tried both Lite and HD versions of Cathedral Landscapes V3, have tried regular No Grassias up to Ultimate.

I brought my creations list down to 200 from 217, have hard reset the console, no joy.

Running Skyrim SE with the AE upgrade on Series X.

Am I missing something obvious or is this messed up?

New To Modding Xbox Series X Skyrim AE – First ever load order. Looking for suggestions to improve it.

Hi everyone!

I’m playing Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Xbox Series X and have recently put together my first ever basic load order following the August 2026 15GB update.

I’ve just escaped Helgen and, so far, everything seems to be working fine. I’m aiming for a realistic, next-gen visual overhaul while keeping the gameplay fairly close to vanilla, with some additional quests and a stable frame rate.

I’d really appreciate some advice from more experienced modders on what extra mods you’d recommend adding, any compatibility issues I should look out for, and whether anything in my current order should be moved. I’ve seen so many comments saying the recent update has completely screwed up people’s load orders.

Advice on load order placement, patches, and potential conflicts. I’d ideally like to keep the total at around 40–50 mods, although I’m more concerned about stability and compatibility than hitting a particular number.

I’m aware that some mods may have newer versions or require patches, so please let me know if you spot anything that needs correcting.

Mod Discussion What is this called and how can i reduce it/disable it?

To be clear i don’t want to disable the volumetric lighting, just the “pop in effect” that changes from dark to bright with the slightest direction change towards the sun.

Anyways what is this called and is there a mod/setting that allows me to reduce this?

LO Help - Xbox Series X I started a new LO and have had multiple CTD'd already

Like the title says I started a new load order and I've had CTD's already. I think it might be related to SDA because I was messing around testing other mods out first and had no issues, but my first CTD was when right after I exited Dimhollow Crypt with Serana, and the second one was after exting Fort Dawnguard with her. Here's my current load order, let me know if SDA's in the wrong spot or if anything else is wrong.

Mod Discussion Legacy of Orsinium messing up Solstheim

POSSIBLE SPOILERS
Heads up if you choose to attack the Agra Crun in the LoO mod. I am playing on Xbox X if it matters.
Something glitches in Solstheim if you do. You’ll be attacked by elves and orcs on sight preventing any further progress, particularly in Raven Rock.
Also a heads up, the final Sanctum seems to be glitched.
Just exercise caution with the Legacy of Orsinium mod.

Mod Discussion Any mods to disable Serana's necromancy spells for SDA + Makeover mods?

It seems the official Spell Toggle Patch that does this on PC hasn't been ported to Xbox for one reason or another, and that one itself has issues with other Serana makeover mods. Any mods on Xbox that work for this? There's obviously a few intended for vanilla, but I'd prefer not to have to find and test each one myself. It is kinda important since if you have the perk "Gods and Mortals" from Ordinator and use Arkay's shrine blessing, she immediately drops to the floor every time she reanimates a corpse.

Sometimes I’d actually like to use Elden Beast, but the way it takes up unnecessary space—along with the many mods you have to disable to avoid crashes—always puts me off using it.

Is there any chance it might get a new version, like a "Lite" edition for Xbox?

LO Help - Xbox Series S Is it possible to have a Series S stable load order

I've been on and off trying new load orders throughout recent years, i had a Xbox One X with 150 mods 3 years ago and was able to complete the main story, civil war and dragonborn DLC with 13 registered crashes but when i switched to Series S 2 years ago and installed the same exact load order i couldn't even make it past Whiterun without crashing so i did a new LO, same result, new LO, same result, about 6 times i could never get it right, even with LOs from this sub but in the end my Series S was stolen and was back to my One X, i bought another Series S a few weeks ago so i wanted to ask you all, is it really possible to have a big LO (150+ mods) on Series S today or is it not worth the effort?

TL;DR: Series S was unstable years ago with most LO for me, is it better now?

So been doing a bit of testing stacking grass mods. Didn't matter where I took a a screenshot. It always looked good. I really like the variety. Then I got distracted taking pictures of the landscape.

I used SWF too get my game visuals looking like this.

You could also play around with the cathedral preset natural and sharp + 1 look all right

LO Help - Xbox Series X Can I get some real help here? ;-;

Ive posted a few times but I dont get any real help.

Can i get some help real help here, ive been working on this list since the 15GB update. Posting the whole list for others to snoop if they want and to get the scope of it but...

My main area of concern is the major city overhauls I have, Capital Whiterun Expansion, Capital Windhelm Expansion, Grand Solitude, Redbags Falkreath. Its usually only crashing after leaving the major cities but sometimes does crash after walking out of the solitude Player home.

Capital Whiterun Expansion, Fortified Whiterun, and Medieval Towers Unique Civil War Turrets all work together very well inside whiterun except one door that can get blocked off, you just have to make sure to have the right version of Capital whiterun expansion, still a little weird to get up there but it is possible.

I haven't found a good jump animation.

I haven't really been able to play test more than that. But basics and general stuff all works.
