Feels good man Russian disinformation bot traffic nearly eliminated overnight after Ukraine drone strikes cripple multiple Russian data centers.

Where's the proof that these data centers were the source of misinformation on the internet?

This post could literally be misinformation to have people put their guard down.

This whole this could just be made up.

Today the sky was yellow where I live.

r/conservative posts dropped to a crawl after the data center went down.  That's certainly something.

I heard the separatist bots got quiet in Alberta subs too

Is there a chart somewhere showing this? I'd love definitively proof

You can just search new on the sub and see an 8 hour gap with nothing posted in a sub of 700 thousand.

That sub is always a ghost town unless something big happens. Even conservatives avoid it day to day.

This is wildly untrue

Its absolutely is true. The vast majority of posts are made by the same handful of people. Most of those posts get a handful of comments at best. It comes no where near TheDonald in activity.

Must be hard when like 95% of news posts go against your bent worldview. Don't want to pop the bubble. Its hard to cherry pick when everything is going so disastrously wrong.

It is, there are like 3 mods and nothing can get posted without them approving it.

I mean I believe there was probably a reduction but there’s already hardcore seasonality in post volumes there because it’s not a public subreddit.

Every post must be approved by mods.

The amount of jumping to conclusions by the "smart side" is troubling..

👍

Maybe go focus on the actual troubling shit from the other side then.

None. They struck the Russian equivalent of google search engine. Thats it.

Pic from cloudflare which shows the bots weren’t even affected.

Is this your company's traffic? Someone linked a story that showed this. It's also from cloudflare

u/FabianN 4h ago

Your graph is that from a single company.

OP is making the claim about all of Russia, which is the graph of the comment you replied to.

Here's the link so you can see yourself

https://radar.cloudflare.com/bots/ru?dateRange=7d

Let me know where on that graph you see bot traffic reduced.

Thank you for the link! This is the kind of real information I've been looking for

You are welcome.

There is a ton of misinformation around this whole incident, and I think we need to remember that these propaganda campaigns operate by impersonating people on both sides, the right and the left.

I suspect most are just blindly repeating what they read without a second thought, but we are all targets of these networks.

Did a test. It's working perfectly for me.

Lol GG bombing yandex cry more

u/vinyl0rd 4h ago

Haha. It's literally just someone saying something and then everyone believing it without any sources.

My man, check yourself. I say that respectfully. Let the facts play out, there’s a chance this might be huge.

If, and all of this hangs on this if, but if Russian bot centers are being destroyed, it stands to reason that they are managed precisely as well as everything else in Russia, meaning they spent all their effort on flash and bang while the infrastructure is a crudely painted mess of carboard and duct tape.

Something, anything of positive consequence has to break sooner or later. It might not be this, but it would be cool if it was.

I remain optimistic. I saw a post where someone said Yes, the bots still exist, and some still have some functionality (liking, reposting, posting memes on a schedule) but lost the LLM ability to comment and chat. Hence the collapse in traffic I at least (yes, anecdote) see on the boards.

here is one link, there are many more though.

>However, the figures also include legitimate automated traffic, such as search-engine crawlers, and do not establish whether Kremlin-linked social media bots were affected.

As per your link.

Yeah, right…

The people who blackmailed our pedophile president into the Iran war and are the top campaign contributors to democratic leadership love having their social media outlets tell everyone how Russia interferes with our country

Just ask GPT for any verifiable method to establish this fact and then ask for reporting on the methods. I did, found many claims but no proof. Cloudflare is the one who logs traffic and they couldn’t tie it to political bots. It’s almost impossible to prove.

You know the adage “it takes way more effort to debunk bullshit than make it up”? Well it’s not much more effort now, AI synthesizes quite well. Til it’s all bot traffic / dead internet

"AI synthesizes quite well", if you feed it yourself, yes. I've done a week of experimenting last month to show my company management that it was not a reliable source of information. I've kept asking GPT, Gemini and Copilot (what we mostly use at work) answers for data and information I knew for a fact what they were, and for over 50% of the time it was just made up. Even showing electronic diagrams and asking about circuitry, it would just invent things that are not on the presented images.

AI is a great assisting tool, but only complete morons trust it and are amazed by it
