My Chrome extension is stuck at ~80 weekly users. What would you try next?
I built Clipwise, a free Chrome extension that saves web pages to Notion. No account, no server, no tracking: you paste your own Notion integration key and it talks to Notion directly. You can highlight sentences on a page and they end up in the Notion page too.
Where it is now:
- 142 installs, 29 uninstalls
- ~80 weekly users, flat for a few weeks
- ~60 store impressions a day
- 1 rating
What I've tried:
- A few Reddit posts in Notion subs (small response)
- A website with free Notion templates that work with it
- Some SEO, but Google sends almost nothing yet (6 clicks last month)
My guess is that the setup scares people off: you have to make a Notion integration and paste a key, which takes about 2 minutes. Notion's own clipper doesn't need that.
If you have a minute, I'd love honest feedback:
Would the store page make you install it? If not, why?
Is the setup step a dealbreaker for you?
Where would you look for the first 500 users for something like this?

Quick math: 142 installs, 29 uninstalls, 80 weekly actives — acquisition ≈ churn, so the flatline isn't a marketing problem yet, it's activation. I'd want to know how many users actually use the highlight flow vs just the save button before touching SEO again. Also 60 impressions/day is a tiny funnel; an A/B test on the store screenshots showing the highlight interaction would probably move the needle more than another Reddit post.

with 60 impressions a day your discovery problem is way bigger than your conversion problem. have you looked at what keywords people actually search when they find extensions like this? most chrome extension growth comes from store search, not external traffic

the setup point is fair, the integration key does add friction, but the real problem is getting the store page in front of people at all. since you already have a site with the Notion templates, a founder traffic exchange might be worth a look: host a small ad card, earn credits, then spend them on impressions for your listing. LaunchPact does this and it's made for indie hackers like you. https://www.launchpact.io/website-traffic-exchange

80 weekly out of 142 installs is good retention, so it's not the product, it's reach. people who want this are already inside Notion, so I'd get it listed wherever Notion users browse for tools and write one post on the highlight-to-Notion trick, that's the bit people search for.
