Hey all - I'm not exactly the target demo - 72 yo white male. Enjoys the show, watching primarily for the cold open, and WU.

When they introduce the musical guest, I'm like "Cool, WU is next (finally).

Last night was like holy shit, she's amazing, even had me looking forward to her 2nd song.

If you could dream cast this season of hosts, who would you choose? I’d love to see Tom Holland, Zohran Mamdani, and Adam Scott be invited for the first time. I’d love to see a high energy musician get the invite, like Ella Langley. Kristen Bell would be a stellar and versatile choice. And it’s time to bring back a legend who’s never hosted: Parnell, Gasteyer, Moynihan. Who do you think would be a good choice?

Finally got to watch George’s appearance on Weekend Update, and I immediately got flashbacks of John Belushi’s frenzied bits on the WU desk. I was sad to see so relatively little of Fouracres this weekend, but his “Professor Grumblepiss” or whatever brought me weird joy.

I replayed that on the DVR to make sure I heard it right… they didn’t dump out in time. The video and audio didn’t match up for a moment.

At least I laughed during the episode because of it. And thanks Mikey Day for the improvised line.

Am I stupid? I thought Michael Che left the cast last season and Colin was solo hosting weekend update but I just watched a season 52 update and he was there. Everything I google makes it look like he never left but I SWORE he was gone because I remember the collective outrage online…am I losing my mind?

Last time Shane hosted it was the worst episode of the season.
