Deer are rampant here. There were a total of 6 deer, out of frame. She's trained not to chase unless I "release."

I’m wondering if those of you who have some nice setups for your pups can show me or link me to what you have. I am sick of this giant, rickety wire kennel and kinda want to switch to perhaps a more permanent piece that has a table top. I know they make crate wooden covers which might be the route I go, but I’m looking for inspiration.
I’d like to be able to close a door, as sometimes I do kennel mine, but in general he is in and out of there all day and night. He mostly free roams. I just upkeep the kennel-training just in case he’s thrown in a situation he has to be kenneled. (Could be arbitrary but in my mind, it makes me feel better.)
Anywho. I see some nice furniture kennels, and nice toppers. Does anyone have a setup or brand they absolutely love? Perhaps their dog loves? My pup doesnt care to lay on soft stuff. He likes his elevated pet cot, and I think it’s because it’s got airflow, but in general he sleeps on hard floor. I’ve tried to put in crate mats but he usually moves those to the side. He might be ok with them now that he’s almost three and it’s getting cold.

I got her from a shelter, they said she’s about 10 months old and they thought she was a GSD and collie mix, but I feel like she looks a little Rottweilery 😅

This is our beautiful, 6 year old Pilù.
He was found alongside 7 of his brothers and sisters off a highway in the south of Italy, where we live.
He has been the light of our lives since his little swollen belly and wiggle worm tail waltzed into our home.
Because he was an adoption and has such a unique look, we decided to do a DNA test and it came back with some interesting (although not totally surprising) results.
'Pilù' is short for 'Pilùzzu' which in Sicilian means "fuzzy one" and was the way that the rescue volunteers referred to him as in our initial communications and the name just stuck ❤️

Hi ppl! I just wanted to ask if anyone knows about American Rottweiler breeders and if you could leave their information in the comments please. We’ve been wanting to get one. My boyfriends American Rottweiler passed more than a year ago, and I think we are ready for another rottie❤️ the breeder where he got her is retired.
Thank you!

Before I got her (my first dog) I was so nervous about doing everything right. Turns out loving them and being consistent with training = best friend. I love you Junie girl.
That picture of her paw literally makes me tear up 😂😭

My baby Bee passed Friday at just short of 12 years. She was battling UTIs since July. Would get antibiotics, rally and then succumb again. This time it went into her spine rather quickly and she could no longer stand. I decided to let her go versus finish out the antibiotics and as those who have loved and lost, know it was the best, worst decision.
Til we meet again my love. This was her last smile for me.
When the time comes for you to make the same best, worst decision….may it be as peaceful for you as it was for us. 💔

First post but have been lurking for awhile 😊
Growing up we always had what is now known as power breeds (maybe that term was used I just don’t remember hearing it). My dad especially loved Rotties so we had various Rottie mixes and purebred Rotties. I never thought much about “power breeds” in terms of anything other than they were wonderful dogs and I loved them as a kid. Our Rotties in particular were nanny type dogs with me protective and made sure I was safe but also slept with or near me at night, let me put hats on them or shoes, played tea party, etc. Nothing but positive memories.
I am now in my mid 30’s and haven’t owned a Rottie as my own in my adult life. I recently decided to start looking for a breeder and potentially own one.
Here is my question: In my research I am coming across a lot of feedback about Rotties being difficult to own, stubborn, strong willed, needing an experienced owner, etc. So I reached out to my dad to inquire about his experience and his feedback was simple “I never had any issues.” So at the risk of sounding naive (please don’t rack me over the coals), what am I missing? Are they a difficult breed to own?
Thank you in advance 😊
