The more we know each other, the better. I'm for free speech and my 5th graders take sex education. This isn't about too young or age. This is prime adolescence when we should be educating our children. When did education and individual freedoms and speech become bad?

You're talking about education. Are you sure all of the recommended books are educational?

Learning experiences of queen people is not educational? Look, I'm not EVER going to be front row at a drag show or consider myself an "ally" but all people exist and you can't sweep people under the rug. That creates disinformation and lies.

One such recommendation, All Boys Aren’t Blue, is a “memoir-manifesto” by a self-described “Black Queer” activist which contains graphic descriptions of multiple homosexual encounters including the sexual abuse of the author at the hands of an older male relative, as well as anti-white rhetoric.
This is educational?

Did you learn about the author? Do their experiences not count because they aren't yours. There's traumatic things out there we can't ignore. I chose to live my life like Jesus and accept those I find unacceptable and not to turn them away.

Did you not learn about the author?
If this is your bar for what counts as "education" for children, let me be a guest speaker in your class of 5th graders. I'll educate them about my most recent sloppy top.

You're moving the bar. I just said it is educational. Each person has a different maturity level. My chemistry books aren't appropriate for some middle schoolers (or adults) either. I'm a conservative for freedom and limited government and letting parents have the discusion.

So you're okay with children being educated about "multiple homosexual encounters including the sexual abuse of the author", but you're not okay with children being educated about my heterosexual sloppy toppy?

Look man, find your audience. My kids read some weird stuff that others might find unacceptable but I'm glad they're reading. I'm not approving the material but stating there should be access. It's a parent's responsibility, not the government's is what I'm saying.

Agreed. Your kids should have access to intimate stories about my sex life.

I was reading Cujo at that age. That book had very explicit scenes in it.

Kids shouldn't be forced to read any Stephen King at young ages, either

IMO, I believe that ten year old children are to young for these kind of materials without parents consent. I'm not saying the material is bad, but it should be at an age that doesn't springs forth curiosity to early. Let the kids enjoy growing up when play and imagination without undue adult themes at this ages time frame. It should be introduced at a later point of maturity.

Is this a Republican question?
